"2 emergency visits within 24, type1 diabetic. Second visit by ambulance. After being place on hospital bed, I was forgotten about for about 15/20 minutes, screaming and crying in pain. It took my daughter to demand care before ANY medical personnel came in. I was placed in a freezing back room, throwing up and I begging for help! AWFUL experience. They tried throwing my daughter out after she said the local News will be contacted, then they took my illness serious!!! It took a doctor hearing my daughter say she’s type1 diabetic for a doctor to come at least start an IV. Worse experience ever! If you do not have someone with you, to advocate for you, you could be possibly be placed in a life threatening situation. This is unacceptable and very serious, could cost someone their life. This should be investigated immediately! I was brought in by ambulance and forgotten about, true story! This is sad…I’m considering moving out of state just to find good professional health care."
"Disappointing Experience at Richland Memorial Hospital Emergency Room with Front Desk Clerks/Charge Nurse/or RN on 1/31/24-2/1/24 Nametags and titles not visible* I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at the Richland Memorial Hospital Emergency Room front desk check-in station and waiting area. I am currently in this hospital today arrived late 1/31 and was here well into 2/1. The behavior of the two ladies working in that area, particularly the short-haired mixed blond and the longer-haired blond, was beyond unprofessional. Not only were they rude and disrespectful to patients and their guests, but they also displayed a concerning lack of empathy. I witnessed the short-haired clerk chasing down an elderly lady who simply wanted to be close to her relative, mocking her when she was seated nearby. This behavior is unacceptable and goes against the fundamental principles of compassionate healthcare. Moreover, there was a disturbing incident involving an irate lady spreading bodily fluids on the chair and glass separator. Despite being aware of this, the front desk clerks failed to take any action to clean the area or ensure the safety of subsequent patients. Their indifference to the pleas of a concerned guest, who repeatedly asked for assistance, is particularly troubling. It is disheartening to note that the majority of patients on the evening in question were minorities, while the clerks themselves were not. This raises concerns about fair and unbiased treatment at the hospital's entrance, the very first point of contact for patients seeking help. As someone with over 20 years of healthcare experience, I have never encountered such poor hospitality. I strongly urge the hospital administration to address this issue promptly. These clerks should be removed from face-to-face duties until they demonstrate a better understanding of how to interact with patients and their families in a compassionate and respectful manner. At least one of them, the longer haired one did not have her name tag visible so you could see, which should not be allowed. I believe everyone entering a healthcare facility deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness, and the current behavior of these front desk clerks undermines the trust patients should have in a hospital setting. More importantly, in your hospital setting."
"The ER at this place must be like the border in texas. They let way to many people in when they dont have any roomfor them! My dad had a stroke and was in a hallway in the ER for 2 and 1/2 DAYS. HE GOT super frustrated with the wholee experience. I will never go back to that ER ever! Rude staff that dont care!"
"Has got to be the most backwoods ,most disrespectful ER I have ever been to. They don’t care if you die just a job to them! Will never come back here!!!"
