"I came into the shop after being in extreme pain in my feet for months, if not years. I had been to a pediatrist and they didn’t really help. I have had diabetes (type 1) for 31 years, and I want to live an active life, but the pain was making that impossible. After meeting with a fitter and trying on multiple pairs of shoes and inserts (each pair feeling better and better), I walked out of the store in the least amount of pain than I have felt in months. I knew that I was paying out of pocket and I would likely be able to get some shoes on my insurance, but I couldn’t wait with the amount of pain I was in. The fitter gave me some paperwork to give my doctor and I can now get a second pair from my insurance. One of the workers even called me a few days after I bought my shoes to check on how I was doing. There was a small learning curve from my feet getting used to shoes that fit me. I have been wearing shoes that are too small and too narrow for me my entire life. It’s has been nearly a month now and other then some tiredness after a full day of work, I have no pain in my feet. I’m sorry for the long review, but I wanted to get all my points written."
"I have flat feet. There is no arch whatsoever. I have recently started a new job where I am not allowed to wear my sneakers/walking shoes. That is sad because they provide so much comfort for my feet and I do not have any pain or swelling at the end of the day. So I needed to find a pair of business casual shoes that were both comfortable and helped my feet to prevent any swelling by the end of the day. I looked online for a brand called Orthofeet for flat feet. The retailers that sold these shoes included Foot Solutions. I called and inquired with Foot Solutions about what they could do to help me. The person on the phone was extremely knowledgeable about flat feet and suggested I come in so that they could see me walk, have me step on a pressure point scale for feet to see where they could help relieve the pressure points. My husband and I went yesterday (Saturday). Sylvia was extremely helpful and patient with me. She measured my feet and then had me step on the pressure point scale. She showed me exactly where I was putting the most amount of pressure and explained how my feet roll inwards. She then had me sit down while she went to find about many different types of shoes to see if I liked the comfort of any of them. There were 2 contenders towards the end. She watched me walk in both of them. I liked the last pair of shoes (the Allegria) I tried. They were comfortable and seemed to hold up my feet better than any other pair of shoes that I tried. She then put in something to help my feet stay straight instead of rolling in while walking and watched me walk. They felt so comfortable and so I decided to take those shoes. After seeing how well Sylvia helped me, my husband decided to try on some business formal shoes. He has one foot flat and low arched foot. On top of that, he has plantar fasciitis. Sylvia gave him a foot sleeve which he said has helped this pain feel so much better even today. He tried one pair of shoes and loved them. They were the most expensive shoes but definitely worth it. He also got some house slippers which are also very comfortable and he feels that his feet and back are so much better this morning. I am very happy with the way we were treated as customers. Sylvia took the time to care for us one on one and we felt happy knowing that we got the best possible solutions for our feet. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone with any back, hip, knee, ankle or feet issues to go to Foot Solutions for any issues! Thank you!!"
"Absoutley The Best!! I took my mom there to get a fitting for her orthopedic shoes for the first time over one year ago. I was really impressed with the fitting processs, not only did they measure but they also did a foot impression, some places don't do this, however it certainly did help with choosing the right shoes for mom's feet. The staff was really helpful in every way. They coordinated everything through the doctors office to handinling the insurance claim. Finally mom had the best fitting shoes she has ever purchased, plus she didn't have to pay one dime out of pocket!! Foot Solutions knows what they are doing and they have many fashions to choose from, which is a plus when it comes to orthopedic shoes!! We are getting ready to go back for another pair this year. If you have any kind of foot condition including diabetes, have insurance or Medicare, you also may qualify for a new pair of diabetic or orthopedic shoes and 2-3 pair of inserts every year with no out of pocket cost. Give them a call and they will be happy to help you and tell you exactly what you qualify for. THANK YOU FOOT SOLUTIONS you have an AWESOME TEAM!! Pleasant atmosphere and wonderful, helpful staff!!"
"Love this place! Wish I knew about them sooner, but at least I do now! If you are in search of a great cycle shoe or just a comfortable shoe this is the place for you! Their staff is too notch! They helped me find the right flip flop and cycle shoe for my poor swollen pregnancy feet. My heels no longer hurt! PS: They also have really cute sandals and will be having their summer sale soon!"
"Please beware the $15 "fitting fee." (Take your feet and march over to FLEET FEET. It is right around the corner.) The salesman at Foot Solutions tried two different pairs of shoes with us. He could not find a good fit for my daughter, so he informed us that we had to pay a fitting fee. Although he is knowledgeable, you would be better off paying to see a podiatrist or a specialist at Brace and Boot. For not being able to find a good fit for my daughter, the fitting fee feIt ridiculous. Especially when an hour later we got a perfect fit. I can understand if a customer monopolizes your time and I am sure some do, but part of running a shoe store SHOULD be helping the customer. We ended up with a pair of Brooks from FLEET FEET. From price to service, it was a superior experience in every way! In response to your post, I think we will have to agree to disagree. I agree with you that shopping in your store and purchasing elsewhere is not ethical. However, that was not our case. You stated that I "chose to look around." What other choice does a customer have if the options you have provided are not acceptable? Your response makes it sound like I just wanted to shop around. However, I had no choice given that the two pairs of shoes you tried were not a comfortable fit. I found it very concerning that you seemed satisfied when she obviously was not. Each pair yielded concerns from my daughter about needed support. Each customer knows their bodies best and my daughter is no exception. That was confirmed when just an hour later we bought the exact same Brooks shoe you had tried but in a different size. The difference in size made all the difference. No arch support needed to be added. The shoe simply fit and provided the needed support in the correct areas. I believe that is the ultimate goal. I would have purchased your shoes if they had fit properly. You stated that "after meeting the need I chose to look around." I strongly disagree that you met her needs. Even after adding the additional arch support the shoe still did not offer support in the correct location. How are you defining meeting the need? Is it if you are satisfied or the customer? I think it is unethical to paint a picture of "disvaluing" your "valued expertise." That is simply untrue. We had every intention of buying shoes, but we wanted a good fitting pair. Unfortunately, you were just unable to deliver the correct fit, "valued expertise" or not. I think in the days in which we live and having to compete with online sales, you have obviously found this fee necessary. I do think you should reconsider it when you have a customer for whom you cannot provide a good fit. Some people still have some integrity and are not trying to take advantage of you. That said, no one wants to buy a shoe that doesn't fit correctly and that is ultimately up to customer not you. I hope this helps promote reflection on both your policy and practice."
