"Of course this is a quiet and peaceful barrier island in part because it's not easily accessible. You can get there on a boat or a short swim and the long walks that are available with ample wildlife are very pleasant. It's especially nice early and late winter during the large bird migrations. Highly recommended, with one exception, if there's no breeze, the sand flies and mosquitoes will definitely find you so repellent is necessary on those days. Remember to not disturb anything, especially the wildlife and just leave your footprints"
"Beautiful location! Fantastic on a sunny day."
"Wassaw Island is a phenomenal national wildlife refuge. I took my SCAD class to the north beach yesterday and we had a great time experiencing the beauty of the "bone yard" and exploring the beach and dune systems. What a joy to have this incredible island treasure preserved for us humans and wildlife to enjoy now and well into the future."
"We have anchored here several times. It is always so quiet and peaceful here. Only accessible by boat!"
"This place is fabulous!! So tranquil and undisturbed! Found multiple sand dollars and got lots of sun!!"
