"I park my car here when I work on the river at night and weekends. It has a long brick drive where a few flights of treacherous granit steps made from ballast stone lead down to factors walk. This is also the location of Bay Street Inn."

"Long shadows were forming as I climbed the stairs and walked into the park. It had been a long while since I stood in such a place, live oaks draped with Spanish moss, still many miles from my childhood home in the Florida panhandle, it nonetheless brought memories to mind. As a history buff I enjoyed reading the many historical plaques about people and groups from the Revolutionary War onward."

"This was amazing to hear about each rock used for the cotton loading paths were from cargo ships from around the world! I wouldn't want to come across seas with an empty ship either. The balcony walkways were for the owners/businessmen to yell at the Irish workers."
