"We have lived in this building for two years, my husband and I and our two kids. The view of Manhattan is amazing. The location and proximity to Staten Island ferry can’t be beat. The other tenants are nice and respectful. We’ve loved living in this building. However, when trying to move out and leave on good terms, the property management company, specifically Staci, has been disrespectful, unfair, and quite unprofessional to deal with. It has now been a month since we have moved out and we have yet to receive our security deposit. We have not even received any estimate for repairs that needed to be done. While moving out, we were accused of leaving furniture behind in the garage, which we did not do. I reiterated multiple times that it was not our furniture, and Staci proceeded to accuse us of lying. I was shocked, to say the least, for we have never lied, nor do we have any reason to. Also, the building is equipped with security cameras so there really shouldn’t have been any questions. A month after moving out, our account was debited for rent. Apparently Staci forgot to cancel the automatic direct deposit that was scheduled every month. While living there, we had notified Staci several times that there was water damage in the unit, water leaking in the bathrooms, water leaking in through the balcony, water dripping down the ceiling. Staci advised this was due to deferred maintenance on the building exterior (it needed to be waterproofed) and that the issue was being investigated. After move out, we were again accused of causing water damage to the floors, which clearly was not caused by us or anything we did. There are some issues with the super, Mike, as well. On several occasions he had let himself into my apartment without my permission, once while I was in the shower, and once while I was in my bedroom taking care of the baby. Every time he came to fix something in our apartment, he had zero respect for our personal property, throwing clothes out of the washing machines, going through our closets, and leaving a mess behind for us to clean up. We had some issues with the hot water tank and the dryer working properly. Mike came to “fix” them several times. All he did was leave a mess and did not remedy the issues. Finally my husband had to go to Home Depot, get the right supplies, and fix it himself. On Christmas Eve, when our hot water tank went out again, everybody was off, and we couldn’t be without hot water for the holiday. We wanted to love this place. The view is beautiful, the apartments are bright and spacious. The owners of the building lived one floor below us and were always so nice, friendly, and helpful. Ben and Arbi (the owners) are truly good people, easy to talk to, and always helped us out when needed. We are trying to leave on good terms, found a perfect tenant to replace us, even helped Staci to list the units for rent in the future, and are being treated with disrespect in return."
