"I have been fortunate enough to live in some very wonderful apartment complexes and I can safely say, this is a terrible complex to live. The property manager who was working here, Jessica, when I moved in was always extremely disrespectful, blamed prior apartment issues on me and would curse at me over the phone. My central air/ac was broken when I moved in, she said that all systems were checked prior to move in. The HVAC guy who came (her husband) had to turn on something while I was at work, the HVAC system was frozen completely and when I got home I slipped and fell in the water from it having thawed. I called her and she giggled over the phone and said the HVAC guy will come back tomorrow. Then, the next day, she called me and immediately began yelling “Did you turn something on?! Because now you broke it.” I said I didn’t turn anything on, it was broken, isn’t that why the guy came to fix it… she said that they couldn’t get the part after they had come back into my apartment several times, she said about 5 times “due to shortages all across America…” So she gave me a portable A/C to use that was plugged into an electrical outlet with a hose filling water into a bucket; incredibly dangerous. I couldn’t leave my house with this running for more than 2 hours because the bucket would completely fill and overflow and somehow the area still wasn’t cooling down. I had to bring my pets to the vet because they were all suffering from heat exhaustion laying on the floor unable to eat or drink water. I ended up sleeping on my grandma’s living room floor while paying $1,750 at this one bedroom apartment. Finally after enough complaining she offered for me to break my lease. I moved in April 15th and left August 30th. She told me that I would get my full security deposit back because this was out of my control. They have made it impossible to contact the owners, they refuse to give the phone number of the people who are in charge of anything at all. I caused absolutely no damage, she took pictures of the apartment after I left and said that I caused a lot of damage and that it would cost over $2,000 dollars to paint and patch the apartment. I literally hung up 6 paintings that only required 2 tacs each. Finally after two months I was given the phone number of the owner of the building and am still unable to reach them. ***I am still expecting my security deposit back."
"The management is completely absent. No AC for 2 days on the hottest days of the year. Not even a reply from the management company! Completely absurd."
"Air conditioning has been non operational for past 2 years and they have "no timeline for repair". Rent was raised nearly $250 a month 2 years ago and there have been no upgrades or changes to unit or building. I would look elsewhere"
"A family member contacted the property management office to obtain information on renting an apartment. They were treated incredibly poorly. The woman in the property management office was extremely rude and all but flat out called a family member a liar. The way they were treated is appalling. The entire interaction was unpleasant and unacceptable. Dutch Village, you might want to get the person answering these requests the appropriate training in dealing with potential clients. After speaking with the woman in the property management office, there is no way we would ever consider an apartment there."
