"Spoke to at least 5+ reps for this property company and set up two tours to visit three apartments. No one told me until the start of the first apartment tour that the financial requirements to live in one of their apartments, is that your income HAS to be 3 TIMES the monthly rental amount!! I never saw it on the website and after speaking to 5+ people in two weeks time, not one agent or anyone from the answering service, told me this very important piece of criteria!!! Lots of time wasted researching apartments, making phone calls and setting up tours! All the apartment complexes under this property management company, needs to have their websites updated to reflect that APPLICANTS HAVE to MAKE 3 TIMES the RENTAL AMOUNT!! This requirement needs to be highlighted and put in bold letters, and your staff and answering service team need to be trained properly on giving out accurate information!!"
"Don’t rent from these folks as they violate NYS’ Domestic Violence laws and are trying to evict someone whom they have proof of DV occurring in their building and was told that as long as they were out within 30 days they were released from the lease. They are preventing this person from being able to find a new place to live because of their incompetence."
"After calling them a few times a week over the course of (at least) 5 weeks, I finally got my deposit back. To be clear, they did not dispute that they owed me the deposit. They just weren't able to get my money to me in a timely fashion. They also owed me money, as I overpaid once because the system did not adjust the price of my pro-rated, last month. Despite telling them that they owed me this (and them agreeing), this took over 5 weeks. This is ridiculous considering the fact that if I didn't pay rent within 5 days, I was charged $50. In the lease, they stated that as long as they sent the check within 14 days of moving out, they were not liable. However, it doesn't take 3 weeks for a check to travel across the country. This double standard would just be mildly frustrating if it wasn't for the fact that moving is expensive. It was difficult to pay for the transition before my first paycheck arrived, and I found myself checking the mail everyday, hoping to get the $1967 that Burns Management was holding onto because they apparently couldn't be bothered to mail a check."
"I don’t live in a burns management property* but I toured one of their properties. Properties they post on Facebook don’t seem to exist. I would stay away from this company in the Saratoga Springs area. I initially contacted them about a couple of properties. The associate I talked to scheduled me an appointment for an apartment complex that I did not inquire about and never gave me any info about the properties I initially contacted them for or said they were available to tour (or that they exist). When I arrived to tour the apartment (very low quality compared to what they were posting on Facebook), I was told the rent had gone up by $200 that day."
"Dead mice in the walls, cabinets, and floors. I have photos to prove it. They came in under my dishwasher. I told management and they marked my claim as resolved without ever contacting me. The plumbing is a consistent issue with the tub and toilet backing up and dumping sewage on my floors, I have some great pictures of this too. I even had the pleasure of calling the cops on my neighbors for their loud music, and audible child abuse only to find one of the adults dead. I was told I had to pay over $4000 to break my lease and leave after finding my neighbor dead. I was told by the Colonie police that these apartments were a frequent stop for them. Jillian is a snake, a manipulator, and all the other staff are heartless liars. They will prey on young adults and families with no other choice. Since I moved to Grecian Terrace Apartments I have seen every longterm resident leave and I plan on joining them."
