"They absolutely suck. They came to unclog a drain and then told me that the clog is to far for their snake to reach and that I would have to schedule another appointment to get the jet out here which would cost $1000, I already spent 600 for them to do nothing I still have a clogged drain and I can’t use my bathroom or shower. Don’t even bother with this place if I could give them zero stars I would. They are nothing but a rip off company"

They were straight forward, kind, clear and very fair with the price. They facilitated all contact with the city of Schenectady and kept me abreast of all updates with repairs. They were honest people that performed excellent work in a timely manner. I couldn’t recommend them more."

"Don’t use this company! The person who answers their phone is nasty. They are overpriced and not transparent. When I called for an appointment to clean out the sewer drain line I was given a starting price and when the technician arrived after 7 seconds the price was $200 more. He said I was quoted a price for unclogging a drain. I explained that is not what I asked for. I never told them I had a clog. Then I found out he isn’t going to jet clean the line for the price they are charging me. He “unclogged” the drain that wasn’t clogged. There are other companies that are more reasonable priced and provide better service / customer service. I will never call them again for again!"

"If you are planning to use Roto-Rooter for anything in the future, don’t. I had one of the most upsetting experiences with multiple members of their team, including the owner. We were in a pinch and needed assistance with a sink installation - when the employee arrived he hadn’t been here for more than 2 minutes, gave me a quote and I kindly passed on their wildly overpriced estimate. What baffled me was that while I was making the appointment I asked if they had an approximate cost for projects like this, and the receptionist replied “They’ll need to see it first”, however when he arrived he had an entire book of costs stating exactly what a sink install would be. From there he refused to leave our property unless we paid him $100 for his travel to my home. I would have NEVER agreed to even use this company if I was told ahead of time how pricy it would be, which is where the scam of it all comes into play. While the employee stood on my front porch refusing to leave, I called the shop back. I was passed around and eventually, the owner gets on SCREAMING at me to pay and that this is the policy she created. I asked her to put herself in my shoes and that this was not explained to me by any means while making the appointment. Not only was I berated, but my intelligence was insulted many times following my ask for her to be more understanding. Thankfully for my husband, since I was so shaken up he called back for me after I was essentially hung up, asking that the man LEAVE our home by owners orders and debate the $100 once more."

"We called RR to repair a simple clog. The technician was in our home for 6 hours, calling his colleagues to ask questions on how to fix it. In the end it costed way more than I was prepared to pay, nearly the cost of two new toilets. Within days, sewage was bubbling up in our bathroom and when we called a new plumber he explained the the clog was never properly dealt with and the technician did a terrible job. When we called RR, mentioning the "30 day guarantee" they said we were lying (??) and they wouldn't refund us. The total plus the damage and repairs ended up costing us roughly what our mortgage is each month. NEVER work with this company, they're awful."
