"This is truly an amazing and one of a kind place! Warning - you will get wet. I recommend waterproof hiking boots or Muck boots. Easy out and back hike with some class 2 hiking when you are in the gorge."
"Looking for a short hike. Although this is just a mile round trip it is a rustic trail. We had a toddler with us. There is a trail with roots. Then you take a set of stairs down the ravine. The stairs do not have railings. then you walk quite a bit through the river heading up stream. But the stream is very shallow this time of the year. Not sure about other seasons. I carried the toddler down the stairs and took turns with someone else through the river. There was a spot where you needed to get over 4ft of logs or take your chance on icy rocks. We made it and the toddler loves the waterfalls challenging but did it. I am no spring chicken"
"This was one my bucket list for awhile. Wear good shoes- it can be slick and wet- a walking stick isn’t a bad idea. The whole area as impressively free of litter! Trail is well marked The waterfall and flames were amazing. Really cool natural phenomenon! Wish there were more benches along the trail. Highly recommended"
"The trail can get a little slick and muddy but my husband and I both have really bad knees and ankles from previous injuries. I took us just over an hour to hike in and out. The trail is easily identified by numbers (1-20) the fall colors were beautiful! There is a section with quite a few steps, and there are no benches along the path but I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area!"
"It only took us 40minutes to walk the entire eternal flame trail. There were a fair amount of slippery man made steps. There were tons of people and several days in close quarters. It was cool to check out, but just way different than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be more natural and a long hike to the flame."
