About the Eternal Flame Hiking Trailhead Parking
Eternal Flame Hiking Trailhead Parking is a popular tourist attraction located in Chestnut Ridge Park, just outside of North Boston in Orchard Park, New York. The park features the stunning Eternal Flame Falls, a 30 ft high cascade with a unique natural gas spring that can be ignited to create a flame. The park offers parking alongside Seufert Rd for roughly a dozen cars, and is open year-round from 7am to 9pm. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, cycling paths, picnicking, and other recreational activities in Chestnut Ridge Park. The trail leading to the falls winds through a mixed hardwood forest and can get muddy and filled with obstacles, but the experience of seeing the flame is truly one-of-a-kind. The park is rich in history, with the shale rock layers responsible for the gas deposits dating back to the Late Devonian Period. Overall, Eternal Flame Hiking Trailhead Parking is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts in Western New York.

Reviews of Eternal Flame Hiking Trailhead Parking
"A good large parking lot with plenty of spaces. Well maintained trails and easy to follow. A really good place for short hikes."
"My daughter, grandsons, and I had a great time on this trail. They all made it easily to see the flame, but I did not. There is a log jam fairly close to the flame and I was unable to cross over it. The stairs are a great addition to the trail, but handrails all the way would be much better for us older people. Even though I didn't get all the way, I enjoyed the trek in the woods."
"Very beautiful and adventurous hike that ends at the Eternal Flame Falls. This easy and short hike is a must if you are in the Chestnut Ridge Park area."
"We had a lovely hike at the park. It was not too challenging, but we are avid hikers and in fairly decent shape. The scenery was pleasant, and the flame itself was very unique. Unfortunately, a group of children blew the flame out. Fortunately, someone else was prepared and brought a lighter. I would suggest packing a bbq lighter just in case you run into this issue. The trail was under maintenence and I will return sometime to experience the changes."
"The flame behind the water is neat. Nice walk through the trees. Hard to explain that there's nothing to do there But definitely worth the trip. Free attraction. You hike in-not handicap friendly. It's lovely seeing between the trees. It was a little slippy in spots. You follow little numbered flame signs; there are 20. Park at the trailhead for most direct access. It was free to park here. You go into the grove and follow a u-shaped trail, forward and to the left. There was a temperature drop when we got to the treeline. Mid-June was green and lush. There's a pleasant woodsy, earthy aroma through the trees and a sulfur/rotten egg smell near the flame (it wasn't overwhelmingly strong). As for facilities, there's a port-a-potty in the parking lot. You do hike back the same way you come in, in reverse. We went earlier in the day to avoid crowds. Most visitors were courteous to each other; tried to allow others to get photos. We hung around for some time just enjoying the view, nature and serenity. There is more park to explore but we found other area attractions to visit."
