"Been shopping here with my family for over 36 years. The best quality, delicious spreads and breads, pickles, coffee, dried fruit and nuts. Just love it here."
"Carmel has been around for so many years and never fails to deliver. I was recommended to go to buy ground coffee beans (they make it on the premises) and I was so surprised. My coffee was delicious. Definitely will be back to buy more of their coffee. Highly recommend!"
"Been living within a 2 minute walk for over 15 years. Best roasted coffee and nuts; notably superior. The selection is really cool, with some of the middle eastern name brands and some a bit more rare. The bakery items also great and the bread is good. Jut a great and unique store to visit and always satisfied. And Oh! the staff is great, just normal neighborhood folks who make you feel at home."
"This store is definitely a staple of our neighborhood. A large variety of halva, teas and coffees by weight, quality smoked fish, fish roe, fresh daily baked pitas. It has the best dates, dry fruit and best nuts you can find around."
"Carmel takes me back to the city of old when I grew up. It is a small locally run store full of middle eastern Israeli foods. Everything homemade is fresh and delicious. The dried nuts, fruits and spices are the best (I get a pound of mixed nuts and half pound of pecans Everytime I go). Now for the best part, the coffee. They roast their own coffee and they take pride in it and it shows. The coffee is some of the best you will find in New York. I highly suggest the mocha Java or the French roast. Step back in time. Very busy on Fridays. The neighborhood is great to walk and shop in. Metered parking on street, alternate side parking on side streets. MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND PARKING SIGNS BEFORE LEAVING YOUR CAR. PAY YOUR METER. NEW YORK CITY IS RUTHLESS WITH THEIR PARKING TICKETS."
