"It was 1991-1992 that I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Of course it time to process that an enemy had invaded my body. Once my surgeon at Slone Kettering hospital, complete the surgery, the second phase began. I recall a group of female patients discussing Chemotherapy treatment and having to select an oncologist. They shared names of doctor that would be in charge of their treatment. I recall their conversations vividly as if it took place yesterday. “There is this other doctor, young, can’t be older than thirty.” “ Give me a doctor with experience and older.” “ He’s so young they call him Doctor Duggi.” “ What’s his name?”, I asked. “Hudis” was the reply.“ “I’ll take him “ I said , as if I he was being auctioned off. Later, one of the women who were apart of the discussion, and dead against having the young doctor treat her, asked, “Why did you ask for his name”? I replied I want him to be my oncologist for the same reason you would not choose him. If he is anything like the television show, he is a winner.” Yessss!!! He was a winner and twenty five years later I am still cancer free. All because I trusted the God instinct within. He was compassionate and caring. It has taken me years to say, “thank you Dr. Hudis"
