"Amazing doctor. My son was diagnosed at my 20 week anatomy scan with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, one of the worst congenitive heart conditions there is. For the remainder of my pregnancy I was seen by her weekly. She was phenomenal. Answered every question, kept me as calm as possible, and when I needed her in a pinch, she was there. Our son Augie was born on 7/1/22 in Rochester and has since had 2 open heart surgeries and 1 brain surgery. I strongly believe that he is here celebrating his 1st birthday because of her amazing job of monitoring myself and Augie’s heart. We love you Doc!!!!"
"Dr Sczpanski treated my DIL. She detected a potential problem with the baby early in the third trimester. She neglected to speak with us about this initially. Weeks later, when asked to follow up with testing to ensure a safe delivery, we were lied to and told the testing was not accurate in the third trimester. We were also told that the pediatrician could follow up on any birth defects, that the baby was “viable”. The implication was, beyond the baby being born alive, there was no need to find out about birth defects. She then recommended to the obstetrician who would deliver the baby that my DIL be induced rather than go directly to a C-Section even though concern for the baby and mother was expressed. After three days of an induction the baby was born via C-Section and needed to be resuscitated. We do not yet know if the baby will need brain surgery. This doctor is intimidated by anyone who has enough knowledge to ask valid medical questions. Upon the very first visit, the Seri on my cell phone accidentally went off when I was putting my phone in my purse. She immediately stopped what she was saying, raised her voice and said, “You can not record this”. I assured the doctor I was not recording anything. I just wonder if it should have indeed been recorded. My advice to anyone looking to deliver a healthy baby is to find another doctor who actually cares about quality of life and has the confidence to be honest with a patient and their support people."
