"Ok clinic, if you do not have healthcare and need free services. BUT they are bad at getting back via their portal and impossible to reach on the phone. You will be on hold for an average of 30 to 45 minutes every time you call and the doctors take days to get back in the portal. I have had to resort to just showing up. At least in the new location they are better about seeing patients quickly. At the old location, I learned to either be the 1st person there or come late when they were about to close because it was 3 to 5 hour wait times. In addition, my supposed primary "doctor" Ginger Gillespie, is just a non-communicative, medical seat warmer. She is not on top of her patients' health needs or thorough and only good for getting refills. For example, she once told me I could not be anemic or Vitamin D deficient because I was "too chubby". When I forced tests, it was determined that I was both severely anemic AND Vitamin D deficient. I basically have to Google, then demand tests and treatments, which is ridiculously sloppy and uncaring on her part. I even had a bout with cancer and never heard from her once."
"I started going to the Sidney Hillman Clinic in 2014, when they were on 16th Street. My primary care physician, who I am pleased with, is there. Almost every time I came in, I had to wait 3 hours to see my doctor. When I tried to make appointments by phone, I was usually put on hold for 30-60 minutes. In 2016, the clinic called me 4x to cancel appointments the day of, for various reasons. Each time, I had to wait another 1-2 months to be rescheduled. They should have given me a top priority appointment. I was able to schedule an appointment for October 14 at the beginning of September, and I am pleased to report that I was seen immediately at the time of my appointment, no waiting, and everyone there was so supportive and helpful. I had a great session with my doctor, Dr. Schiller. The new facility is spotless, airy, beautifully designed, with comfortable seating and lots of light. The difference from the old facility is like night and day. The directors and Board obviously worked very hard to secure the new facility and to provide a beautiful setting for patients."
"The level of care has definitely decreased in the two years, I've been going there. The absolute worst thing is trying to get through over the phone. Their system is so slow, you could make breakfast, go for a run, shower, and be at your desk before anyone responds to your call. Not only have I not waited at least 45 minutes before speaking to someone, sometimes you're transferred to a department, and the waiting continues. I need a new GP, but I'm considering some other clinic. Disappointed."
"I was referred here and was given the old address, which I showed up to at the appointment time. When I saw a notice on the door that the address had changed (which the receptionist typically clarifies when scheduling an appointment over the phone), I called to say that I would be running late and was told it was no problem as there is a 15-minute grace period, and that a note would be added to my record so the office knew. I arrived within the 15-minute grace period but was handed a large stack of paper that took about 20 minutes to fill out and be processed. After this, my doctor came out and told me she could not meet with me because I arrived “so late.” Ordinarily in circumstances like this, offices let me finish filling out paperwork after the appointment. Either way it would be been nice for someone to tell me much earlier in the process that I wasn’t going to be seen, as this was a huge waste of my time. I’ll be choosing a different doctor."
"Every time I go I have a good experience. Every doctor I've come across is kind and make sure your comfortable. My doctor is great. Being able to use My MyChart with them helps also. The doctors will always answer your questions in a timely manner. Their late hours make it convenient as well. Their urgent care is useful. My friend referred me and I've been going ever since."
