"Terrible experience in this place. Specially, the service front desk ladies provide, they’re rude. Seriously, they do not seem to be happy doing their job. If we ask questions, they won’t respond in a polite way, they will answer unhappily. This place made us wait 5 hours plus. Ridiculous!!! My friend went inside 3 times and nurse told her to wait in the waiting area and she will be called soon so we could exit. But, noo! We waited for another 1 hour and 30 mins and the nurse still didn’t call her. This is insane after going in for 3 times, we still had to wait for a while. I feel like they were being bias. We wouldn’t mind waiting but we have a newborn baby who needs to get fed. And, we’re already out with the bottle. This is the only closest place from my house so I am compelled to be here. If I had a choice then I would pick some other place. I will never ever in my life come here. Horrible experience here!"
"I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and I’ve been getting all my prenatal care at this hospital throughout my pregnancy. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this hospital, but it’s the one that’s closest to my house, so I’m sticking to it because I like knowing that there’s a hospital nearby once I go into labor. I don’t know if the welcoming staff are overworked, but there’s hardly a smile to welcome patients at the reception. They mostly seem unhappy and grumpy and like they don’t want to be there. The nurses that take your vitals afterwards are all sweet, patient ladies, though. I really appreciate talking to them. As for the actual midwives and doctors, it really depends on your luck that day. Sometimes you have to wait up to an hour after your scheduled appointment time to be seen. One of the midwives once told me I have tuberculosis when none of my blood tests indicated that I have said disease. So, if you can, review all of your blood tests just to confirm what the doctor says. Apart from this incident, most of the doctors have been professional and kind and always answer all of my questions very patiently, so kudos to them for that. I would like to give a word of warning about the fetal ultrasound department at E-26 on the 5th Floor. Twice, one of the ultrasound technicians scared me and tried to insinuate that something was wrong with my baby when in fact she just couldn’t get a clear view of baby due to his position. I went back home with a lot of anxiety both of those days. My ultrasounds there have also been quite painful. The technicians apply A LOT of pressure, and I know that fetal ultrasounds aren’t supposed to hurt that much because I’ve had one at Mount Sinai that didn’t hurt at all. The technicians are also constantly entering each other’s room while a patient is having her ultrasound done, and they keep complaining about how many ultrasounds they have per day. I empathize with them if ever they are overworked, but gossiping in front of patients is not the most professional thing to do and won’t solve their problems. Another aspect of my prenatal visits that I don’t particularly enjoy is how grumpy the technician who performs blood tests on the first floor in 1023 is. She clearly looks like she doesn’t want to be there and speaks quite curtly to patients. All in all, I believe this would be a much warmer and welcoming place for pregnant women if some of the staff had better training in customer service. Pregnancy is an already very daunting time in a woman’s life, and having to deal with cold and grumpy hospital staff at every prenatal appointment adds unnecessary stress. This hospital is not the worst of the lot, and they do have some good things going on for them, but the customer service sure could use a whole lot of improvement to make us pregnant ladies feel a lot more welcomed."
"This is second time am visiting. All the health staff I have encountered here have been super pleasant and helpful from the front desk, Lina Bassi, her face is so smily and easy to understand it and feel more comfortable to ask any questions. And CNM Margaret Re and she is the best hands down. She is extremely knowledgeable and very quick with responses. I definitely can appreciate it. And I must say overall, all of the midwives and nurses provides have been extremely patient and the best bedside manner. Feeling confident and empowered Thank you."
"I was welcomed and greeted in the oral surgery area by Denlsy caro and Shawn loving. They were extremely friendly and treated me in the kindest way possible. The service and staff members were extremely kind and very comforting when I was very nervous. I feel extremely safe in their care."
"So here I am, outside of the building on the burning Sun, waiting for them to open the doors, when my appointment is at 8am and they request that you gotta be here 10 min before... yes 10 min before just to wait, wait and wait, on the street... oh! I’m not alone, there are 8 more people burning with me out here... Nice way to treat patients!!! Update: Staff will arrive, chillin around 8:10 am and they will of course have the worst attitude towards patients. Also if there’s any “employee” from the hospital or someone they know, they will jump the line ahead of you, even tho we were here 7:45 am, a “woman” with her two kids came at 8:12am went ahead and jumped right in front of us, just because she was wearing a hospital scrub. Nightmare just started, a front desk lady took all my information and made me wait in another line, just to find out my Gynecologist appointment is actually in a different building, THIS LADY TOOK MY ID, PRINTED PAPERWORK AND MADE ME WAIT IN ANOTHER LINE FOR A COVID TEST, WHEN I WAS HERE FOR A GYNECOLOGIST APPOINTMENT (THEY CAN SEE EVERYTHING IN THEIR SYSTEM).... it’s unbelievable how they won’t pay attention to important details, like she got me in the system, she could see why was I here for today... and even tho she made me waste my time and then I had to walk to a building next door for my actual appointment! So I end up being 30 min late... I’m not surprise everyone in New York talks bad about this hospital and the staff, also the bad reviews, it makes a lot of sense!"
