"I am diagnosed with severe depression and generalized anxiety disorder. I am experiencing a significant increase in anxiety and panic attacks as a result of beginning Spravato treatments that I can not discontinue as these 2 hour treatments have nearly put an end to suffering from constant/daily suicidal thoughts for 4 decades. As a result, I am experiencing a significant increase in my anxiety and a marked increase in panic attacks for which I am not receiving adequate medication. As a result, though I seldom drink alcohol, I reported to Dr. Mauss that I have, unfortunately, been forcing myself, over the last six weeks, to drink alcohol to decrease my suffering. She refused to consider effective medication(s) to treat my increased anxiety and instead simply labeled me as a person with an alcoholic "disorder," and required me to participate in a substance abuse treatment program.
