Reviews of Adolescent Child & Adult Psychiatry
"I went to ACAP to be evaluated for autism and ADHD. The doctor who saw me, Dr. Jackson, was incredibly unprofessional. She was distracted during our sessions and did not give me the attention I deserved, sometimes exiting the room to have shouted conversations with her colleagues about completely unrelated matters. She rescheduled my appointment several times, each time promising it would be the last time she rescheduled - a false promise that made it even harder to trust her during our sessions. In diagnosing me with ADHD, Dr. Jackson told me that she was hesitant with the diagnosis because my IQ score was too high to have ADHD. I have since sought second opinions on this. The three mental health professionals I asked all said that the idea that someone can be too smart to have ADHD is patently false. I am utterly unsatisfied with my care at ACAP, from an interpersonal, professional, and diagnostic perspective, and do not recommend anyone else go there."
"Arshiya was really nice to work with. She was really helpful when giving practical solutions. I think I, myself, would have prefered it if I led some conversations in order to work through my problems. Since I am a university student it would sometimes feel like another lecture. Otherwise, I do not regret my time spent with her."
"I didn't feel that I was taken seriously. Not only did I constantly struggle to get in contact with the office, but they avoided my calls. I called from my number and was sent to voicemail 3 times. I had to call from a different phone for the office to pick up. This happened repeatedly on multiple occasions. Because I was told I needed an appointment each month in order to get a refill on my medication, I called frequently to try and set up appointments, only to be ignored. This resulted in my medication running out multiple times and leaving me without them for days. Ultimately, I chose to leave ACAP and chose a different psychiatrist who has communicated with me consistently and takes me seriously. I would not recommend ACAP to anyone, ever."
"We loved our sessions with Ms. Arshiya. I could believe how quickly she was able to get my son to talk when he was intent on not speaking when we first arrived. She put us at ease and really helped with the issue we were having. The atmosphere is comfortable for children and she was so patient with my daughter being there during the sessions. Highly recommend."
"This experience has been the worse. The communication from the entire staff has been horrible from start to finish. To have a $607.99 bill and nothing has really happen. From day one they shared somone else's medical information with my wife that wasn't my child's. They never reviewed my child's medical records after being asked for 4 months to do so. They tried to prescibe my daughter medication without thoroughly evaluating her. This is unacceptable and I don't appreciate it. I wouldn't recommend using them AT ALL. You can tell when people do things just for the money and they are only about the money. Dr. Maroof is rude. Thank You for nothing. The review rating says it all 2.8."
