"I am 3 weeks post-op after my Endometriosis Excision surgery with Dr. Stepp at Atrium Health One Day Surgery and I'm feeling very good. I have recovered very well and my experience has been overall great with this office. Dr. Stepp and his NP Shannon Smith have been very attentive, thorough and kind throughout the whole process from consultation to surgery day. All of the staff were also very kind and professional. Dr. Stepp and his team found several locations of Endometriosis and excised them completely and removed a cyst that had encased my ovary. Every single one of my concerns was addressed and I'm so relieved to finally have answers after 9+ years of suffering and OBGYNS telling me there was nothing wrong with me. I'm not happy that I have an incurable disease but I'm very happy that I have a diagnosis and my first experience with Endometriosis excision surgery was with this office. My only complaint is that I was not informed when my surgery time was changed and the only reason I learned about the change was because I called the office the day before my surgery to double check. I think this was a miscommunication between offices but that was my only negative experience."
"Thank you to Amy, and Megan, and Aggie for helping me today. They were truly nice and I appreciate Amy coming in so often to update me about the status of my surgery and when it would happen. She set expectations and thanked me and apologized every time she came. Megan was welcoming from the time I opened my eyes and was extremely helpful. Aggie explained everything perfectly and was also patient and helpful as she wheeled me out. I was nervous because I’ve never had any kind of surgery before but I appreciate the kindness of the staff who put me at ease. I wish I knew the names of everyone who were also involved with my surgery. I’d like to thank them too. To Doctor Rouse and all who assisted her today, thank you! I’ve been going to Doctor Rouse for many years now and she still puts up with me. I don’t think I ever thank her enough because I’m always just trying to get out of her office. Lol! Thank you again everyone!"
"With waiting with my mom from my dad having surgery, which the last time he had surgery, he coded. So my mom wanted me to come with them which I'm glad I did. She didn't want to be by herself in case something happened to him during surgery. The nurse that took my dad to get his dye put in before surgery, let me go with him and she was very nice. Much appreciated. But this blonde nurse that sits at the desk was very rude when it was time for us to go back when he was in phase 2. She was very rude and unprofessional and wouldn't let me go with my mom. My parents are older and didn't want my mom to go alone. After I stated that I was his daughter, she proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't even be down here. I was like I came with my parents to be with my mom. This person needs to taught how to speak with empathy and compassion when it comes to parents like mine and the common courtesy of being respectful to others. I know some places will allow one person, but when we both saw her take 2 family members back to phase II earlier, I'm sorry but that was not right or fair. I do not recommend this place to anyone when you have people like her working here. You need a professional person working the front desk instead of her. I have her name Debbie, she was an older lady with short blonde hair. We heard her talking to other people like she did us. She needs to be reminded where she works and how to treat others, especially in the Healthcare field. I work in the Healthcare field and I treat patients and their families with respect and compassion. She needs to be talked to."
"I was very nervous about my first ever surgery and the team made me fell at ease. The center is well organized. My husband was given a code so he could receive real time updates. I of course know my surgeon, Dr. James, who’s excellent; the rest of the team came by to introduce themselves including Dr. Dhingra the anesthesiologist, and CRNA Lisa. Also I’d like to thank Ms. Charlotte, RN Lisa, and postop RN Megan. Strong work!"
"October 4th I had my surgery. Surgery went well still recovering. Currently in the healing process. I wore some jewelry there which was placed in a bag and stored safely. Everything was explained to me and nurses were great up until I got to Phase 2. The recovery area. I had a pregnant nurse Sarah was very helpful and kind. Congrats on baby James. Then I had a nurse name Kathryn/Catherine not sure how she spell it but she was a brunette with glasses. I was given my belongings but she was trying to get my mother and I out doing she can leave for the night. It was late. Around 8ish. I understand I needed to leave but this was my very first surgery I needed a few extra minutes to get myself together. She took back the curtain and had a wheelchair ready while my mother dressed me. My jewelry was left due to being put out so quickly. From my understanding the linen that was sitting around my jewelry was tossed to be cleaned. My Apple Watch was pinged to Atrium Health distribution department. I contact them and also spoke to nurse Sherry since the this occurred. Since it’s a new week now no one is answering. I just want my belongings or an update. My jewelry has sentimental value that’s why I don’t remove it. For those few hours I did and now they are gone for good."
