"After at least 10 visits I did not feel they had any real plans or directions for my care. The price is too high for the service provided and often they did not even go the full length I paid for. Even if its 5 min short that was like $20 of real money. I should not have to be coming up with things for my therapist to talk about, did they have no suggestions, no expertise? I could get as good of advice from a friend or the internet"
"The worst therapist I’ve ever encountered , his name is John Moss. Had a video session with John Moss and all he did was make negative facial expressions. This happened during our second and last encounter. His suggested one and only coping skill was for me to work out after I told him on the first call that I exercise 5 days a week. When I reminded him of that his response was, well that’s all I got. So after a 5 minute session I was told to setup my next appointment. It’s unfortunate that I have to leave a star."
"I cant believe that I was charged for an appointment I was not even scheduled for at 3 oclock. It is not apart of my schedule anyday to get an appointmeng at 3. I was on the phone for 30 minutes almost regarding this because there was an appointment at 3 scheduled when noone returned my calls or emails or voicemails but instead they want to charge me a no show fee."
"Hey! Thought I would come back on here and leave another review incase anyone is thinking of going to center for emotional health charlotte. please do not support this company! I am about to tell the story of the worst experience I’ve ever had working with mental health “professionals”. I would highly recommend NOT GOING TO THIS COMPANY. especially if you have mental health problems because they will NOT help you. They do not care about you. charlotte center for emotional health deeply traumatized me to the point where I was barely even able to talk about it that’s why I’m leaving this review again so many months later. in April of this year I was told by a psychiatrist at this company that I was bipolar and I am which I already knew, and I was prescribed lamictal(lamotragine) after telling the doctors the other medication I was taking. I was not in a manic state at this time, but had not been sleeping very well because I was on a super high dose of vyvanse with the company was also prescribing me . I was super anxious about taking this medication already because it’s very dangerous , is known to cause a deadly rash, and my psychiatrist said I couldn’t stop taking it all of the sudden or i could literally have a seizure or really bad side effects. 3 or 4 days into the medication, I was feeling worse and worse. I called them and was told to wait it out as my body would need to get used to it but I told them I was not feeling myself and I was feeling unstable I was not taken seriously which was my first red flag. that weekend was the first time I had been suicidal in years. My life was perfectly fine, and I had no intentions of wanting to die until then I was being delusional and didn’t feel like myself. I was lashing out at my friends and family so the next morning Monday I called them and explain to them what was happening to me and I was told that my psychiatrist cannot speak to me until Thursday. it was Monday . I asked if there was anyway I could stop taking my medication and they just kept telling me that I can’t speak to the psychiatrist until Thursday. The front desk people were literally so rude to me, for no reason when I was in a genuine crisis. I called the nearest mental hospital near me and told them I was going to die if I didn’t switch my medicine . it was so awkward having to call 911 admit myself to a mental hospital and genuinely inconvenient. The psychotic episodes that were caused by the lamotragine did not last long, and by the time I had sat in the waiting room of the mental hospital all day, the episode was already over and I was hungry and ready to go home. I called center for emotional health charlotte one last time to say thanks for making me miss school and drive all the way up to charlotte after I told you I was going to kill myself and you said to wait till Thursday. Whoever they have answering the phones are idiots who should literally not be allowed to work for such an important organization in the mental health field. I had to seek emergency help and get switched to a different medication asap. I missed a week of school because of this which caused my already stressful life to become so much more stressful. I did not fully recover mentally until months later. I do not understand how the mental health system can be this deeply corrupt and dangerous. It was a really weird lack of empathy and care for the sanity of humans that honestly just surprised me and made me want to kill myself 1000000 times more."
"The Center for emotional health on University in Charlotte is by far the best doctors office in town! Today I went with my wife to her appointment it was her first visit. We were very pleased with the service! The front desk receptionst (Michelle) was very nice polite and helpful! She was very warming and understanding very positive attitude! From the time my wife first called to make her appointment she just cared and understood exactly what we we going through! It’s hard to find a good doctor office that makes you feel right at home and in good hands and here is a place that has made us feel all those things! We got turned around on the directions and she took the time to guide us straight to the door!"
