"Dr. Snow has been helping me for years by helping me get the medicine I need. I am thankful to have him as my doctor."
"Dr. Snow was "seeing" (NOT COUNSELING) my Granddaughter for 2 months and she had charges totaling over $3 thousand dollars. The only thing he did for her was to subscribe Ativan, which she did not want to take due to it being an addictive medication. When she got behind paying her bill, due to the fact that she could not work BECAUSE OF her mental condition, the uncaring office manager told my Granddaughter that DR. SNOW would not fill further prescriptions until she paid the entire bill. Hello! ( This was after she had been told as long as she paid on the bill every time she came in, it was ok to have a running balance due on her charges). She is not working because of her mental illness, he placed her on a drug that she needs because her body has become use to it, and he won't fill her scripts because she doesn't pay her bill! WHAT A JERK! THIS PRACTICE IS A GREEDY - MONEY HUNGRY - UNCARING - ENTITY, THAT HAS NO COMPASSION FOR IT'S PATIENTS AND EXPECTS THEM TO PAY EXORBITANT FEES FOR TREATMENTS WHICH DO NOT INCLUDE HELPFUL COUNSELING - ONLY DRUG TREATMENT! I would not recommend this practice to anyone! If you are seeking counseling which includes compassion, find a physician that is NOT IN THE BUSINESS JUST FOR MONETARY GAIN!!"
"I met with Dr. Snow last Thursday. He was welcoming, kind, understanding, and informative. The wait time was short. Leaving his office, I felt encouraged and hopeful. He was able to describe depression and anxiety using metaphors that truly helped me better understand my feelings. I would recommend him to anyone struggling with mental health issues."
"Wait times are outlandish. We saw Dr Velosa, for a while and during the appointments he was likable and knowledgeable but the way his schedule is run. Watched him walk into the office 7 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start and it was the first appointment of the day. If you are known for an average 30 minutes or more late for appointments every day something is wrong with your time management. Book less sessions. This is basic common sense. You can't run a business like this and have kids missing twice as much school for an appointment then is needed. Pretty sure having a kid who needs a psychiatrist is stressful enough without dealing with a poorly run schedule and business."
"My teen has been a patient of North Raleigh Psychiatry for 10 years. I am not a fan of the practice at all, because the owner - Dr. Snow -- is difficult to deal with and is more concerned about making money than treating patients. The only reason we stayed was because Dr. Juan Velosa was a capable and reasonable physician who prescribed medications that my child needed. He did not provide therapeutic assistance beyond medication control, but at the time, that was what she needed most. We found therapeutic counseling elsewhere. Last year my teen scheduled an appointment and failed to tell me about it, so we missed the appointment. The office charged me a $100 fee for the missed appointment, despite the fact that we had only missed one other appointment in 10 years. Given the fact that psychiatric patients are often unable to manage their lives, I would think that bit more flexibility (and less punitive measures) would be in order. But that is not the case. They didn't care at all and would not work with us to reduce the missed appointment fee. Another real drawback is the lengthy wait time. We never waited less than 30 minutes to see Dr. Velosa, and we usually waited 45 minutes to an hour. As a working parent, this was extremely inconvenient and disrespectful of my time. Lastly, the practice does not accept ANY routine insurance. I have BCBS, and I have had Coventry as well, and they don't take either of these. I paid out of pocket for all of her visits. Needless to say, we will not be going back. Three strikes and you're out."
