Oscar Gilberto Gomez, MD

Oscar Gilberto Gomez, MD is a pediatric doctor specializing in pediatric infectious diseases located at 1001 Blythe Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. As part of the Atrium Health Vaccine Research Program, Dr. Gomez contributes to studies on the social determinants of health and sponsored vaccine trials. His pediatric research is centered on the epidemiology of hepatitis C among infants exposed to the infection in the maternal womb. Dr. Gomez has received multiple awards for his work in pediatrics and promoting inclusion and cultural diversity.

Dr. Gomez received his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and his doctorate in microbiology and immunology from the University of Maryland. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Washington in Seattle.
