"I usually don't do reviews a lot but I have to share my experience as a patient of Dr. Amy Broach. I've been a patient of hers for some time now and she is the best! She always attentively listens to my concerns and dosen't hestitate to answer my questions. She really cares about her patients and her residents talk highly of her. I recently had a hysterectomy and she performed the surgery and I felt like I was in good hands, she made me and my husband feel at ease since this was my first time having major surgery. "Dr. Broach performed my Hysterectomy 15 days ago. I have had anemia for far to long with fibroids, it was time! At 43 years old, I'd say it wasn't easy. But the outcome will be so worth it. I turned the corner of pain on day 11. I was off all medicine by then as well. Her team was fabulous. From the person who checked us in to surgery to the anesthesiologist team, all very informative and kind. I do not normally do reviews, but I almost canceled due to the few that had been posted concerning pain. Yes, this is SUPER painful, and they do send you home entirely too fast in my opinion. But hey- it's Covid, and the mandate has caused shortages everywhere. As far as pain: I had a plan, and was proactive with my primary doctor on pain management that worked for me. ( I was not good with the go to prescribed medicine by Dukes surgery Department, but they have their protocols.) I can not emphasize, have your primary care doctor involved and they will help. I had received 3 surgeons opinions, and I believe I chose the best, BY FAR. Welcome to email if you are considering the surgery.Talk to your friends- all of them, and get their stories, it will help and provide you tricks to use during your recovery. If my husband had written a review on day 1 -3 it would have been awful, no one likes to see their family hurt. You'll get through it, and almost forget the pain. The brain is wonderful that way.
