"I was diagnosed with vulva cancer in October of 2008. My GYN misdiagnosed my condition so by the time it was corectly diagnosed, it was recommended that I have a radical vulvectomy. I was so afraid. My GYN wanted me to go to Chapel Hill but I had seen an article introducing Dr. Monica Jones to the Raleigh area. I made an appointment, saw her and immediately fell in love with not only her, but her staff as well. Dr. Jones is such a brilliant physician. I had a couple of issues with my groins as the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. She identified the problem and arranged for a treatment that had not been done at Duke before. I am forever grateful for her knowledge and wisdom. She also supported my husband throughout the entire situation. She treats the whole family. "My mother has been in the care of Dr. Monica Jones for 2 years. After being diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer, we put our trust and my mothers care in her hands. My mother has gone through countless rounds of chemo and surgeries. Recently Dr. Jones decided it was best to prescribe my mother a new oral type of chemo therapy. It was a brand new drug which just came on the market in December 2016. It being a brand new, my mom was one of the first, if not the first person to take this medication while under the care of Dr. Monica Jones. As I type this, my mom is currently in the ICU fighting for her life. She is heavily sedated with a breathing tube, and is being fed Intravenously . She has been like this for over a week now. The new drug Dr. jones prescribed my mother caused her white blood cells to deplete and drop to a ridiculously low level. Her body has no immunity and a simple everyday bacteria caused my mom a full blown infection leaving her fighting for her life. I must mention that despite the cancer itself, my mom was vibrant and energetic Less than 2 weeks ago. Dr. jones did not monitor my mother properly. Knowing the risks/side effects of this medication, they never once tested or monitored my mothers white blood count. She is prescribing dangerous drugs and not taking proper precautions to make sure people are as safe as possible. I believe people are just dollar signs to Dr. jones and her staff. If you are reading this Monica, I hope you spend less time staring at yourself in the mirror when you are talking and more time actually caring for your patients. My mom might just be another name on your long list of patients, but she is a person with a family and deserved a lot better care from you. Especially with all the money you've profited off her these past 2 years. You want all the power and prestige of being a doctor, but when it comes to the safety of your patients you aren't 100% cconcerned. To anyone considering Dr. jones for your care please please please proceed with caution. You really make me sick Monica Jones."
