Durham Cycles

"I bought a new bike here a year ago. My short summary is that I still love the bike and will be doing all bike related business with Durham Cycles for the rest of time. I drove over to Durham from Cary on the strength of their reviews and the fact that they are not a hostage to Trek/Specialized/Giant, etc. I was looking for a steel bike that would be comfortable on longer fitness rides where speed wasn't necessarily a goal. I haven't really biked since I was a kid, and I was overwhelmed by the number of options when browsing online. Brandon let me demo a few options, including a Marin Nicasio and a Jamis Renegade. The Renegade was stunning, but my heart and wallet said that the Nicasio met all my needs at a great price. I have no regrets. It's been reliable and incredibly fun to ride. If you're looking for an affordable and fun way to enjoy all the greenways and trails this area has to offer, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a bike from them. They stand by their sales for a full year and have a very good selection at multiple price ranges. Plus a good selection of quality accessories. They're friendly and I truly believe they just want to see more people enjoying riding on the right bike for their needs. Worth the drive from Cary or Raleigh, too."

"Good value for money, a decent touring bike (propped up on its stand in this picture), and helpful advice from Brandon, who kindly put mountain SPD pedals on the bike for me. I highly recommend the out-and-back route on the American Tobacco Trail greenway; it was ~75km there-and-back, but you can choose to shorten it by returning at any point. The Peruvian chicken place over the road is great for replacing protein and carbs after a ride!"
