Holiday Inn Express Clayton (SE Raleigh), an IHG Hotel

"Great rooms and service, but.... don't think you can link your playstation or xbox to the wifi. Hopefully you can just Hotspot from your phone like I did. The breakfast is basic."

"As a Silver Elite Member I am horrified and absolutely disgusted with this hotel. In my room was an actual large ROACH just walking around. Fortunately we seen it and my husband killed it but I can't imagine falling asleep and this thing crawling about in the room. I called downstairs and the night auditor said to me that this is the south and ROACHES are common. That's it!! That was her rebuttal! ROACHES are common to areas that are not fumigated for insects and not taken cared of. She offered us a different room but I said No thank you, I will not stay in a hotel, eat their breakfast and know that they have roaches. We immediately called the IHG and was given a case number and promised points. I have a case number, have not heard back from anyone and we checked out and went to another Hotel branch... Hilton. The only thing pleasant about this hotel was Kema, the person we checked in with. We have not been contacted by the hotel manager at all or IHG. Here are picture below. Absolute Horror!"

"First visit here was going to be nearby and late ...check in was easy , front desk attendant was courteous . Outside surroundings not so appealing ( businesses with construction happening) very clustered with hotels and restaurants. Room was pleasant as most from H I EXP. my 3 star rating due to the 1 hair I discovered on the bed as I pulled back bedding turned on my phone light to inspect sheets for wear, cleanliness & anything else before ever getting in a bed .... luckily I got a room that had 2 beds oddly I never book that I checked the other it was fine . Otherwise room was clean thankfully ... I'd re visit and recommend. I slept my entire visit therefore no breakfast review."

"Let me start off by saying I’m extremely picky about hotels. Cleanliness is a huge factor for me. I’m THAT aspect, I was very pleased. I didn’t see one thing that raised my eyebrows. I’m regards to the rest of my experience I will say that front desk staff was super nice and helpful. However, there were a couple of things that need to be addressed/fixed. The USB plug in by the lamp in my room (201) was all jacked up. Wouldn’t even begin to work and looked like it had been bent. The TVs could be updated, but nothing major. Facility wise I only used the gym. It was ok but the treadmill incline and TV were inoperable. Overall really happy with my stay. There’s just a couple of things they could fix to take it to the next level."

"I'd give this location a solid 3.5 stars. The young man at the desk provided fast service for check in. Other employees didn't really greet or acknowledge us The rest of our stay. The breakfast was more than adequate. Early risers had a better selection with omelettes and bacon. 30 minutes later, those items weren't available. Our room was fairly large and comfortable. The bathroom is very tired. The bathtub is peeling and funky. The sink is cracked and stained. Walls could use a wipe down. When paying $150+ per night, I'd expect a little nicer stay. Service is only available for multiple nights if you ask early in the morning. So no fresh towels. We didn't have enough towels for the number of guests booked. So we had to go get those at the front desk. I understand making fewer demands post covid, but I guess I expected a little more quality and efficiency from HIE."
