Peytons Hideaway Gatlinburg

"Location was good, we had 9 in our group. Sofa beds were terrible. Only 1 kitchen towels and very few bath towels, I wouldn't have minded washing BUT dryer didn't dry anything. Run down, really needed some TLC. Parking was on such a steep grade. No pot large enough to cook pasta in. Front step was broken, door code didn't work, had to call and it took several more tries to get the door open. Foose ball might have been fun if there was a ball! There were carpenter bees eating away the posts in the back. I could go on , but just stay somewhere else. Wouldn't recommend March 2022."

"We just spent the week in Peyton’s Hideaway at 1204 Briar Patch Lane. While the cabin was beautiful, there were some issues that shouldn’t have been issues, considering we paid $370 per night for the cabin. Those issues are listed below. 1) No pairing knives 2) No serving bowls 3) Broken wine cork screw 4) One cheap frying pan that burns everything (Need more than one frying pan for certain) 5) No large ladle (kitchen needs to be equipped to serve 10 6) Ceiling leak in living room (had to put a pan under it to catch the rain water) 7) Had to ask for extra bedding (when cabin is supposed to sleep 10). Those linens should have been available without me having to ask for them. 8) When the extra bedding was dropped off, no extra towels were included 9)Light fixture upstairs bath has a short and sometimes doesn’t work at all 10)No Shelves in fridge door - limiting storage in fridge 11)Deck fireplace doesn’t work, neither does the main fireplace 12)Main floor bathroom door doesn’t close 13) Main floor bedroom bath has a large crack in the wall that you can see outside through 14)Mouse droppings in kitchen drawers and sink. I had to wash the silverware every time we ate and mice chewed through the packages of the snacks we had there. Since the website states that this cabin sleeps 10, it should be equipped with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, linens and towels for 10. Had I known that it was not equipped, I would have brought my own pots and pans. The issues above are not expected or acceptable for a place we paid $370 per night for. I did address these issues with the rental company and they didn’t bother to respond and that’s just bad customer service. I won’t be renting from Jackson Mountain Homes again."

"Save your money. Mice droppings in every drawer. Caught one still got fresh droppings every morning. Worn out mattreses and couch. Broken oven door, dented up hard to close fridge door. Horrible driveway, garage full of construction debris, grill to dirty to use, porch covered in cob webs. The theatere is a big screen in a hallway. Cabin is in a subdivision of cabins, very loud neighbors. We rent a cabin in the Smokies every year, this one was the worst."

"An absolutely terrible experience and a complete waste of money. We've stayed in a variety of Tennessee cabins with other rental companies and have always enjoyed our getaways. However, in this cabin there are mouse droppings in the silverware drawers and pots and pans, hair in the beds, stains on the couches, dirty cabinets, freezer smelling of rotten fish and i could go on. It's alarming to think that in the era of Covid-19 a company would not attend to cleanliness and sanitation measures. Additionally, the cabins in this location are practically on top of one another and offer no seclusion or privacy and if you're as fortunate as we were to have rowdy guests next door, prepared not to sleep until well after 2 am when the yelling and music finally dies down. This goes down in the books for one of the all time most disappointing vacations."

"Peyton's Hideaway is in a great location and has pool table, foosball and arcade for entertainment. The cabin is spacious so everyone can do their own thing. However the cabin also has mice, a leaky roof. Both items I brought to the attention of Jackson Mountain Homes two weeks before I checked into the cabin when I read reviews before our trip, I spoke with Sarah. Sarah made no record of me calling and did not email me an update on the issues like I requested. We arrived to find mouse droppings, water running down the wall when it rained. Shrubs blocking the entrance to the home (with thorns). A worn out and stained main floor mattress, we had to wash the stained mattress pad the first night there. Stained lower level carpet. Uncomfortable couch in living room..Spoke to multiple Jackson Mountain associates to get the shrubs cut while we were there , it never got done. Walkway into the cabin is broken and uneven. Dishwasher lower rack needs replaced. There are mouse traps everywhere so watch your kids and pets. I brought bins to put our food into so the mice would not get into it. The upper floor carpet below the window was soaked when it rain and it leaked into the main floor bedroom. The cabin could use a deep cleaning. Main level deck has 4 chairs no tables and this is the only deck with anything on it. When the maintenance person came out to bring us more towels to put down under the leaking window and take pictures of the window he changed 6 light bulbs. Also the original reviews I read soon were taken off the internet and Jackson Mountains website for this cabin has no reviews for it for 2019. Not sure how you go about writing a review on their website but I guess they dont want anything negative for this cabin."
