"If I could give them 0 stars I would. Banfield as a whole is terrible and I switched from another Banfield location to this one and at first I thought it was better but it wasn’t, they’re responsible for my dogs death. I took him 3 times in the last 6 months for a lump that had developed between his eyes. I was told it was an eye infection. They left him antibiotics every time but never once thought to do an X ray or CT scan or anything. They told me he was fine for his comp exams. Truth be told, I feel like they didn’t even look at him or examine him since they took him to the back without me being present. The last time he went was last Wednesday for another comp exam and for the same bump that had grown and was giving him swollen eyes at times. Once again, was told it was infection and had to pay $188 for pills again (pills that never helped him). The following week, I took him back in because his nostril was bleeding for 4 days straight and he could no longer breathe from his nose. They FINALLY referred me to another vet to get a CT scan, but even then, there was no urgency on their end. I decided not to wait for them to send the referral and took him in as emergency instead. They immediately did an x ray and found out it was a huge tumor that was cancer and was inoperable in his nasal cavity that was spreading and growing at a rapid pace (hence his nose bleeds and nostrils closing up). We had to put him to rest that same night because it was way too painful for him and he was suffering. Banfield did not care AT ALL. They neglected my baby and ignored my concerns. Had they done their job and taken an x ray when I took him in 6 months ago, maybe he could still be here. Don’t take your pets here."
"Banfield on Golf Links Dr has been our vet ever since we moved to Charlotte. Dr Martenssen and staff exhibit their love for animals by their care and affection for the animals."
"I would not recommend Banfield (as a whole). This particular Banfield is always dirty. They shame you for not buying products from them and will always find something that your pet needs (vitamins, a test, prescription food). I was shamed nearly every visit because they thought I didn’t give my pet preventative care. For example, I buy my flea medicine elsewhere and because it’s not on record there, they immediately jumped to the conclusion that I didn’t give my pet prevention. Another time I was going to be charged an extra $50 to test my dog for Heartworm during her well exam because, again, I didn’t purchase my heartworm meds there. I ended up arguing this one and not being charged. They charged me for a urine sample collection fee even though I brought them my dog’s sample because that couldn’t get any (after having her half the day). I have a lot more I could add, but save your time and money. They treat your dog like a number and try to find ANY way to get money out of you. Also, they’ll rope you into the wellness plan because it’s cheaper than paying a la carte and continue to coax you into the next tier plan. Beware: you get what you pay for. It’s all auto-renew, so if you miss you’re window to cancel you’re stuck. This is how I’ve been locked in for so long, but I’m done. Canceled my plan and happily switching to a private practice."
"They always take care of me and our pets. They have learned all our animals names and faces. This allows them to check us very quickly."
"During the last 3 yrs I’ve had and paid for a membership with Bandfield to take care of my dogs needs. They sell you with the idea that your dog can be seen any time if an emergency while open. Just yesterday my golden cut his leg while playing at the dog park and would not stop bleeding. I rushed him over to this location and was turned away by the Vet because they were booked. This is not just poor business, but lack of respect for the animal. I was furious at them and will never go back to this location. Why become a vet if you can’t do your job and take care of an animal that is bleeding. Why do I need to be referred to another vet if I pay for your services."
