"I saw Olivia Hodgson today as a first-time patient for a primary care visit. I was so impressed by the level of care I received here! Everyone I spoke to was super nice. Olivia was very friendly, listened to me, and asked lots of great questions. The practice felt very inclusive and non-judgmental. I am so happy to have found a place that isn't fatphobic and that makes me feel like they care about me as a person."
"This is a tale of two facilities. Prior to COVID, Dr. Whelan and his staff were professional, responsive, and always available. I gave quite a bit of grace during the height of the pandemic, but nothing changed. In fact, the care my family and I have received has gone down in the last several months. From being completely ignored when asking medical questions to being given completely wrong information, 2023 will bring a new provider and better care for those I care about most."
"I've been disappointed by WakeMed Primary Care time and time again, and I can't believe I've stayed as long as I have. Today was the final straw, and I will finally find another practice. I had to cancel an appointment for a mammogram (at a different practice) less than an hour before my appointment because WakeMed didn't come through with a prior authorization that was faxed to them nearly two weeks ago. I called WakeMed about five times in a row and the line just rings and rings and rings and there's no voicemail. After a few more seconds the call gets disconnected. Getting appointments is ridiculous, and I've often been told the earliest I could be seen was three weeks out. Oftentimes getting someone on the phone is a joke. Almost every single time I use the portal to request a refill on a prescription, I'm told I need to come in for an appointment. I always need to correct them and tell them the date of my last visit before they'll fill it. This practice is much too big and feels very disorganized. I have several more "stories" I could share, and I encourage anyone to avoid this practice at all costs."
"I had the BEST experience at Wake Med North. Dr. Hicks and her staff are Incredible!!! They are an excellent choice for your health needs. I came to Wake Med North looking for a new doctor. I was so disappointed with my old doctor I was discourage to go back to her. I did research and I made an appointment with Dr. Hicks. She so amazing. She answer all my health concerns and she gave me a yearly Physical. When I left the doctors office I had a smile on my face letting me know I am in safe hands. Thanks DR. Hicks YOU ARE THE BEST"
"I had an excellent experience here in establishing new care. The scheduling process was fast and flexible, with several appointment options that met my needs. The clinic staff were very friendly, the intake forms were easy to navigate, and the waiting space was reasonably comfortable. The appointment started with minimal wait times. The care was excellent and I had a very knowledgeable and friendly health care provider who was able to quickly assess previous, ongoing, and future health care needs. I felt like my care was comprehensive, efficient, and not rushed. There is also a lab located in the same building which made completing post blood work easy. Follow up was quick and the electronic systems to access results were easy to use. Very good experience overall!"
