"Great Dr's & Nurses. Very knowledgeable. Great communication. Great team all together. If you ever have any vascular or heart issues, don't even think of going anywhere else. Just go straight to see them. They are rock stars!"
"My husband has been a patient at Sanger Clinic for many years. While we have always been happy with the actual doctors and nurses, I am appalled at their customer service when it comes to returning patient calls to nurses. My husband went into a fib a couple of weeks ago, not the first time. He made a call to the office to have a nurse return his call to answer questions about what he should do. (Often he ends up at the ER when in a fib, but his doctor has recommended he not always go there right away.) He made the first call at 8 am, another one at 11:40 am when he still had not heard back, and I made a third call at 1:30 pm. At this point he had been in a fib for 15 hours. The receptionist I spoke to was very snippy with me when I asked when we should expect someone to call us back and advise us what to do. She told me the timeframe for callbacks is 48 hours. 48 hours when you are dealing with a heart condition??? That seems more than absurd to me. It’s not as if we were trying to get a prescription refill or something. I totally understand how the nurses are busy and most likely understaffed. However, in a practice as large and established as Sanger Clinic, perhaps they need a triage nurse that is only responsible for callbacks to their established patients when they have medical issues arise. It is, after all, a cardiologist office. Sort of important, if you ask me. No one ever called us back, by the way. We finally just showed up at the office before going to the ER and a nurse was able to see him and perform an EKG, and give us a plan. I just do not think it is asking too much to receive a call back, at least within a couple of hours or so."
"My cardiologist has left Sanger so I made an appointment with a nurse practitioner instead. I am blown away by how thorough and knowledgeable the nurse practitioner is. She had prepared a meticulously for my visit and reviewed many aspects of my medical history. During the appointment, she listened thoroughly and thoughtfully, responding to all of my questions with respect and deep knowledge. The next day, she reached out to me with further thorough follow up research she had done. She familiarized me with aspects of my health history that none of my other doctors had taken the time to do. I will still search for a new cardiologist, but I am quite impressed with Nigella and will definitely use her (& perhaps other advanced practice nurses as well) to supplement additional physician's care."
"I experienced an unusual event with my heart. Called my Doctor at Sanger Heart Unit. They responded quickly, made me an appointment for the next day, and a strategy was implemented at that time to solve my medical issue. From the doctor, the nurses, and the receptionist, everyone was friendly, courteous, helpful, and extremely professional."
"Very disappointed. A young lady assisted us through the procedure and placement of a heart monitor. She could not have been nicer. Problem is, she wasn't trained.. at all. She had trouble getting it on and every question we asked she had to go into the hallway and ask someone for the answer and return. I understand training is training, but good grief, someone should have been there with her in the room. But - there's more... In returning the monitor we followed everything to the letter. We got the monitor to the place it was supposed to be, but the accompanying information sent by Sanger disappeared on their end. It was finally tracked down. Turns out the trainee sent it to the wrong place. We returned, driving all the way into town for our scheduled follow up appointment. The folks there looked surprised.. clueless really.. and after a search it was declared it was lost and we were went home. A month goes by when we finally hear back from Sanger. We were told what had happened and.. after all of that.. unbelievably, we were asked if we wanted them to proceed to get to the results. Seriously??? Good Lord Almighty!"
