Rex Hospital Infusion (Blue Ridge)

"UNC scheduling is abysmal throughout their entire system. My doctor put in orders ten days ago and no one has called to schedule my appointment yet. I have made FOUR phone calls to this facility since my follow up with Dr Copeland but no one can put me directly through to scheduling or whoever makes their appointments. I assume it’s off site. I’ve also sent three messages via my chart as well. All with zero luck. My nurses always return any messages or questions I have and even though they say that they will call scheduling and tell them to call me, no one has. Meanwhile, I have a really, very low iron count and desperately need to get in for an infusion. I’m to the point that I have significant symptoms because of this including headaches, dizziness and brain fog. Yet, no one can directly connect me to scheduling so that I can make this infusion appointment. Even though it’s frustrating, the nurses and support staff at this facility are OUTSTANDING. I average two appointments a month for lab-INR checks and it’s a joy to see the same people every time. Front desk / kiosk people are always nice and no one is ever short tempered or crotchety. The girl on 3rd floor check in is so sweet. We chat every time I come in. The nurses on 2nd and 3rd floor are great too. There’s not a lot of turn over here so you never have to repeat things multiple times to someone new. I see Dr Anureet Copeland (hematology) and I love her. The UNC bureaucracy is always going to happen no matter where you are but everyone at this location makes it so bearable. I love this place."
