"Many hotels have these same problems and are priced just as high if not higher for a night's stay, so please know that my review is not meant to be harmful. Obviously this hotel was great and still can be, but the roaches from my last stay were horrible. You know, if roaches crawled in stores over food and clothing the business would suffer. Hotels are where you buy comfort and privacy! Your product has roaches crawling all over the place. This business is hospitality, you sell comfort. But noisy guests, door slamming and roaches are very uncomfortable making the stay unpleasant. I have had some good stays at this hotel, and it took a long time to write my review. If this hotel gets rid of the roaches and the bad smelling hallways and the outrageous door slamming, I think it would be among the best in the queen city. Other than my last stay, and in comparison to others, I would choose this hotel."

"After spending a day at Carowinds and then the night at scarowinds, I decided to get a room here for my daughter and I. When we arrived the parking lot was filthy and there were many people loitering around outside. I was hoping for the best when going to our room but as soon as we sat down we noticed several bugs. We got our stuff and went back to the service desk and the guy was very apologetic and gave us another room on a higher floor. We got to that room and there were more bugs in this room than the first room. It's now 230 in the morning and we go back to the desk and they guy again was very polite and said he would refund us and said they know they have a pest infection and that the pest control they use is watered down. I do not see how these places can be allowed to operate in such horrible conditions. DHEC needs to investigate this place and shut it down. No way can this property be up to code. Choice hotels are just filthy altogether it seems and this was my last experience dealing with them. Save your money and do not stay here no matter how tired you are."

"YOU don’t have to worry about me ever staying here again!!! We booked here since my daughter has an early dance convention and this place is 8 minted away. I booked as a choice member and I am used to being placed in the better rooms wherever I stay. Well, not this time! As soon as I opened the door, I immediately smell of smoke and know that I selected non-smoking. The play, play balcony glass sliding door was open. Right under by a door, there were five or more smokers. The lock wasn’t the best best but we were on the 6th floor. I checked and thank God there were no signs of bed bugs. We always bring cleaning supplies (habit and even more nowadays because of Covid), and I sprayed the room down with Lysol and the bathroom down with Mr. Clean and Clorox. We all went to sleep. I am a light sleeper and I couldn’t stay asleep. There was noise in the halls and outside.Around 3 am, I went to the use the bathroom and there were so many tiny roaches crawling in and around the tub, on the floor, on the wall behind the toilet. My mother and daughter were both sleeping, and I know exhausted from the day and road trip so I didn’t want to wake them. I sprayed Lysol and the cleaners everywhere again. I checked the room and it appears they were only in the bathroom so I closed the door and stiffed a towel under to hopefully contain them. I informed the desk worker and they asked did I want another room. Of course, I declined at 3 am because it could’ve been worse. I stayed awake until I woke every up at 6 so that we could leave. I will never stay here again. We plan to leave our belongings on the back of our truck for a few days since I don’t want to bring anything back home from here!"

"This hotel use to be great. Now the hallways smell like smoke, the rooms smell like smoke. The last room I had, had a 4in x 4in square of carpet missing, smelled very strong like smoke, had paint missing, the door leading to the balcony wouldn't lock, the headboard on one of the 2 beds in the room was detached from the wall and loose, among other things, but those are the main ones. While at this hotel my wife and I both observed 2 people in a vehicle to what appeared they were being Intimate, for one of the 2 getting out of the car to move to another to perform the same act again. Not saying it was a escort but........ and that wasn't the only one. Not a place I would ever bring my kids back to. This hotel is cheap for a reason."

"WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! We didn’t read the reviews before booking…worst mistake ever! People roaming the parking lot, People outside throughout the night fighting and yelling right when you get on the elevator. Elevator is disgusting had water and trash in it. We go up to our room a man is passed out on the floor in-front of the elevator. It smells so bad you can’t even deal with the smell. Now It’s not just people sleeping in the hallways it’s also people yelling in the hallways. Finally get to our room.. hairballs all over the bed and cockroaches everywhere. We left immediately & will not ever return! DO NOT GO THERE."
