"I only visited the greenhouse this time and that place is so beautiful and peaceful. I didn't expect it to have so many cool varieties of plants, herbs, spices, flowers, trees, etc. If you are visiting the Botanical Gardens, parking is very easy too! Just sign in and you're good to go."
"The parking available to people just wanting to visit the botanical gardens is quite in-intuitively the "only handicapped" parking lot. There are a few specific spaces next to the building and then you have to sign in on a list with your license plate. While there are many different kinds of plants identified with signs throughout the free trails, this is not a floral garden – there are actually only a very few flowers along the walk. We definitely had a different picture in our heads than what it turned out to be."
"What a beautiful place! Ed, the lead horticulturist, was welcoming and friendly, sharing some history of the gardens and some interesting plants. We went to the garden side one day and the Glen side the other. What a great place for UNC students to hang out with their laptops - so peaceful."
"This is such a good stop to make if you're in the area. The greenhouse is filled with beautiful plants and there's even some educational placards you can read. I loved the orchids and cacti. The last room just feels like you're in a jungle because you're surrounded by absolutely massive plants. The trails across the street are incredibly well maintained and the gardens are beautiful. I only had a short amount of time to wander after the greenhouse, but I'm sure I could spend an easy hour walking around everything. The parking was a little confusing by the greenhouse because it looked like a strictly handicap lot, but there are designated spaces for the gardens there."
"Hands down the most beautiful campus gardens I’ve ever visited. The meticulous care for this space and all the different walking trails are over the top beautiful. It felt like walking into a magical garden in the center of a large city. A wonderful place to take a break and enjoy a peaceful nature walk."
