Reviews
"Sad to say but this museum was very underwhelming. I figured bringing my kids during black history month I'd be immersed in wall to wall art and other forms of visual imagery. To my dismay it was as dry and stale as expires crackers. The info video gets you so hyped about what your about to experience but the actual galleries leave much to the imagination. I'm hoping that I caught the museum on the wrong day. I'll give it another chance later in the month. But my first experience was one I'd like to forget."
"I highly recommend coming to see the feature artists beautiful work of art. I was extremely impressed with the show cases."
"Update 12/27/2023 - Enjoyed a night out at the museum with family. The museum celebrated Kwanzaa with free admission. . They also have a great gift shop. (See photos ) The museum has a little something for everyone. Lots of free events. Recently, my husband and I checked out one of these events. They were celebrating the 50-year anniversary of Hip Hop. They also have a nice gift shop. Prices are very reasonable."
"This museum has some of the most beautiful and intricately done artwork I've ever seen. Very digestible, but you could also spend hours there if you wanted. The gift shop has very nice items too!"
"Museum was incredible! Great layout, fantastic representation, and curation. Loved the 3rd floor exhibits. Gift store features products made by local BIPOC small business owners as well as a great selection of childrens books and more. The staff was incredibly friendly. We had luggage to store while we visited and they happily stored our luggage so we could enjoy the museum. I will definitely be back!"
