"I’ve been shopping at this location for years but on 11/2/23 was my worse experience. I used self check out and requested $50 cash back, unfortunately the machine advised I needed to retrieve my funds from a cashier. No one was at the check out post so I seen 2 employees talking by the cigarette and advised I needed my cash back. “TINA” sarcastically asked “for what” I explained to her what happened and she said “well you didn’t call anyone over” I stated there was no one to call which is why I walked up to you. I gave her my receipt to show and she looked over EVERY transaction as if she was doing the math in her head. She stated she needed to get a manager then went and got a key but as she was walking out the office I hear “I don’t know why they continue to use that” I asked her if there’s no cash back on that side cause there’s no sign indicating that. As she’s getting my funds another coworker with really screwed up bangs says to Tina “overworked and underplayed” lol get another job then. Tina gets the money out and licks her finger to count five $10 bills repeatedly because “the money was sticking together” lol then when I asked her name is when I got the proper customer service I deserved from her in the first place. Called the store, waited line was disconnected. Called back spoke with an assistant manager (forgot his name sorry) who stated he would “have a conversation with her about how she should have handled this” maybe customer service and code and conduct modules she needs idk. I wonder if the color of my skin would’ve made her a little more patient with me. Or if I looked like her would she have treated me differently and not as if I’m lying about my OWN MONEY. Hate to feel that way today but there was no reason for her behavior, so if you’re a POC do not request cash back, you will be treated as if you’re lying. Thanks Tina!"

"My partner and I went to food city tonight (September 18, 2023) and we found great deals and more things than we planned on getting! The major problem is with one of the employees. We weren't able to catch his name but he was one of the people manning the self checkout. He was wearing very loose clothes and had on wire frame glasses. We heard him talking down to his coworkers like they were 5 year old kids ! He was almost yelling at customers over very simple problems, like removing an item from the till for example. He also lied to my partner and I about purchasing alcohol. The person buying the alcohol needs to show ID, not everyone in the party. He was very rude and just refused to let me speak like a human. Very degrading and so so rude. I don't think my family or friends will be going to this Food City for a while or ever again."

"wow, i just wanna say i had the best customer shopping experience ever all to one person. i almost never write reviews on places but i just have to write this to give this person credit for making my shopping experience so phenomenal. At about 12:54 at night i walked into the grocery store in search of cranberry juice, as i was walking i saw a lady putting stuff away in the isle. i approached her and asked her if she knew where the cranberry juice was and instead of the basic annoyed worker response, she replied “yes of course, isle 15, right hand side; right in the middle”, so i went and searched and she was right on. i picked up the cranberry juice and continued shopping. This isn’t the end of it, as i was shopping we somehow encountered each other again, and she asked me if she could help point me in any direction of my shopping list items, i just so happened to be looking for cranberry’s as well. so i said yes, she proceeds to give me information on cranberry’s and walks me through the store on where cranberry’s may be, (due to the season there wasn’t a lot of options :( ) she apologizes for making me walk a distance and is literally just amazing. she shows me the spots there typically at in season, and since they were out of stock instead of leaving and apologizing that they were out, she asks if frozen cranberry’s are okay? and i say yes of course, and she takes me to them. i just wanna remind you this is right at closing, and i feel like any other employee would’ve told me to leave. I regret my self for not catching her name so i could give her more of the credit she deserves. but if any manager sees this, and knows of the lady working on july 26 2023 12:50AM please give her raise. she was absolutely amazing."

"It's hard for us to shop any other grocery store. The Food City chain continues to give us a good value for our money. I like the store layout and the friendly employees. I appreciate a clean store and their help to find you something that you're on the hunt for"

"Wow has this store gone downhill. Don't bother coming here for soup its always so nasty and thick as its been sitting there so long. Used to get the best chicken and dumplings here but they just stopped making it. Perfect time of yr for it I'd say.. And if you need a slice of pizza you will be completely ignored for awhile before someone finally decides to help you. Rotten produce as well as low product availability. If your looking for food club forget it they just stopped carrying it?!? Pick is of soup with something nasty in it"
