"This place is hit or miss. The only thing that is fresh is the fish because they prepare it to order. Rice is too cheap not to be cooked fresh daily and the last few times you can tell the rice was not fresh. Macaroni and cheese was definitely cooked a couple of days ago because the cheese was hard, burnt and not fresh. In order to be successful you need to have consistency with the food. These plates cost too much money to serve mediocre food."

"Food was not good! Took one bite of the chicken patty it was hard, dry, old and had green stuff on the front of the patty. Review the photo posted. The chicken was soooo tough I couldn’t eat it. I threw the entire meal in the trash where it belonged! I will not return and don’t recommend!!!!"

"I got the oxtail,greens & peas n rice with a chicken patty. The oxtail was a bit tough the flavor was good but a bit too sweet for me. The Greens the flavor was good but somewhat greasy & rice n peas was fair just sticky. The chicken patty was hard."

"I had some serious high hopes after my go to spot closed in NODA a good while back. The food wasn't bad but wasn't great either for a $17.00 plate. I got the Jerk Chicken with Collards and it was decent but based on the price and more so the service I will not be coming back. Jerk Chicken was heavy with sauce, not dry but not moist and wasn't as flavorful as other versions I have had. Rice and beans were very dry. Collards were pretty good and served hot. Below is a large part of this rating. The guy taking the order over the phone sounded like he hated his job, was severely irritated with answering the phone or he was angrily fighting a hangover. I thought wow but everyone has there days folks. However, in person this was even more so apparent when I walked in. He was impolite and acted like I made a mistake coming in or he had never taken any such order. After telling him I had just got off the phone with him only 10 minutes ago he nodded and walked around unlocking doors. Once all doors were taken care of he got my order and took my money. I still left a tip but I hope this was a tip sharing establishment whereas the cooks etc get a share."

"Catching up on reviews. Used Uber Eats to try this spot for lunch on Friday, 05-06-22. I ordered a small curry goat with yams; it came with rice and peas. I also ordered a beef patty and I believe 2 chicken patties. Everything tasted great & fresh. The food was still hot after delivery. The goat was tender. I could use a few more chicken patties right about now. Plenty of rice and peas. Had plenty leftover. Would definitely visit when I'm on that side of town."
