"The seafood boil was excellent! I WILL be back next time I'm in Charlotte. Everything was cooked to perfection and the Old Bay garlic butter was delicious! Servers were friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean."
"Very disappointed in recent visit, particularly the food and its amount and quality. I’ve visited this establishment many times over the past few years mainly dine in and it’s always been a hit (except for maybe one or two times for take out). I had the number one, snow crabs and shrimp, added the sausage and got extra corn to sub the egg, mixed flavor with medium heat. I only received one cluster of crab legs and that’s never happened before, and the cluster didn’t even have a lot of legs on it, furthermore, it was old. The whole boil was old, like everything had been sitting for an extended time in flavoring because most of it was black from the heavy seasoning that you can’t really taste. The legs and most of the shrimp were black from seasoning, it was old, so was the sausage, all the corn was old bc it was overcooked, and even the potatoes, one actually just fell apart bc it had been cooking that long, again, old and not fresh. The seasoning and heat index is not what it used to be, similar to what other reviews mentioned. I don’t even see or taste the garlic pieces at the bottom of the bag nor did I taste the Cajun, lemon, butter, anything, just an oily concoction like someone else mentioned. Not only was the food not fresh, the portions were smaller than before, I usually have leftovers and can eat some the next day, wasn’t the case. It’s extremely disappointing to not have the same taste, good portion sizes, and quality as before while having to pay even higher prices. It isn’t a cheap meal and so a fresh, quality and tasty meal is to be expected. This is not the yummy crab I know and love. It’s unfortunate that I have to find a new seafood place because this isn’t it. Update: I visited again a week later just to compare. Even worse, got jipped. Only One tiny, very OLD, dark crab cluster (pictured). Actually combined crab legs from two different clusters to make one, I’m certain that’s not equivalent to 1lb (have Always received 2 clusters before). The food isn’t fresh, particularly take out. Seasoning is still not what it used to be. Not worth the money, go elsewhere."
"I seen alot of bad reviews but still decided to try it and Im glad I did . The food was great and so was the service."
"I haven’t been to Yummy Crab in a year and when I went back this time I’m sorry to say it’s different. Remember when you used to get the bags and head all the juice at the bottom, you try to see the juice to create your own seafood boil later there’s no more juice the portions are different. The taste is different the corn, the potatoes, the eggs it’s all different. I don’t know if it’s on a new management and cooks new chefs new recipes are used to see Black people in there. I don’t see any more."
"This was our first time. Was not sure what to expect. We ordered a #11 at the recommendation of our server Victoria. Victoria was great. She even brought a complementary ice cream dish with a lit candel. We are on a trip to celebrate our anniversary. My wife and I shared the #11 $49. 00. Don't be too proud and put on the gloves and bib. You are going to need them. I have to say I was still hungry after we finished off the bag and an order of hushpuppies. The lobster was cooked a little more than I prefer. The King crab was a little small and took more work to get to what was available to eat. The shrimp were a good size, and the whole meal, which included corn, potatoes and a boiled ege , was very tasty. I would definitely do it again, but change out some of the seafood choices to add to the volume of the meal."
