"My husband and I walked down to The Garrison for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere is great we sat at a table upstairs overlooking downtown. The cocktails were well crafted and we loved our meals. I got the 1/2 chicken which had amazing mashed potatoes and gravy and my husband loved the ribeye sandwich. His truffle fries were the best part other than the brownie skillet sundae we split :) We had great service and will be back soon!"
"Last night, my friend and I tried out The Garrison. I saw an IG post a few days ago and wanted to try it out. I had a spiked hot chocolate and NC egg rolls. My friend had a burger and fries. The drink was strong. My food could have used a bit more seasoning. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous, especially with the holiday decor."
"We recently visited this location and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a great addition to the area and you should definitely give it a try. 1. There are at least 3 free parking lots in proximity to the restaurant. There should not be a problem finding parking on most days. 2. They have 2 floors. The main floor that you enter on has a very prominent bar along with high top tables. The second floor has more of a traditional dining room and also has a smaller bar. They've done a really great job with the use of space and also with interior design. It feels like they really paid attention to detail. They also have outdoor seating. 3. Everyone is super friendly, the hostess was nice and worked quickly to have us seated. The wait staff was also kind and quick to give suggestions on what food items to try. 4. The food was really good. We had the crab hushpuppies. They were delicious but we thought they could've used a bit more crab flavor. The lobster roll and house made chips were also really good. We'd definitely try those again. We also had the Pan-Seared Scallops Butternut Squash Risotto, Apples, Apple Cider Gastrique. This dish was really good. It was seasoned well and presented beautifully. Lastly we ordered a side of braised mushrooms. They were ok but leaned towards being too salty. I don't think I would order them again. We also had 1 cocktail but I don't remember its name. 5. Price... Although we had a really good experience I feel like we didn't get a lot for our money. Our bill before tip was about $94. We really did enjoy our meal, it just did not feel like we had $94 worth of food. I understand they have to make a living so I get it. It felt like we should have paid maybe $75 so. I would definitely go again and try a burger and the house made chips. So many orders came out while we waited for our food and they looked delicious."
"I really liked this place! We had our two year old, and it was restaurant week - not exactly a low stress situation. The staff were super accommodating and made us all feel welcome. The wine list was good, we split a bottle. We ordered the price fixe menu. Everything was delicious! Toasted ravioli was great. I preferred the chicken, but my wife preferred the short rib. We both got a desert with our 3 course menu, but it was my son’s birthday so he also got a free brownie Sunday. All of the deserts were good, but the brownie was super rich and delicious. If you like chocolate, that’s the move!"
"We went here for a date night and it was delightful. service was great, live music was good (but a bit loud for me personally). The food was delicious. My favorite was the Burrata salad and fried green tomatoes. But we also tried the fried ravioli, pulled pork egg rolls, scallops and butternut squash risotto, and my husband got the cheer wine short rib. We will definitely be back. The manager came to our table and asked how things were going, service was prompt, and we enjoyed our experience!"
