"The Papusa’s were the best that my Husband and I have ever had. The Tamal’s are absolutely moist and delicious (we got some to take home).. All the staff were friendly and courteous, we really enjoyed our lunch!!"
"I have been going here for about 2 years now on a weekly basis. The food and service are always awesome. The papusas are amazing! The chicken with cream is my favorite hot buffet item, and the beef tacos are the best I have had anywhere. I was a chef for 30 years and fully understand restaurant quality and value and El Buen Gusto is definitely one of the best places in the Charlotte area!"
"Literally the best place ever!! The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is even better!! Everyone is so kind and welcoming! Try the chicken tamales!"
"I walked in my first time because I was curious as to having a typical Salvadoran breakfast which consist of two eggs, I went with over easy, black refried beans, creama which is a heavy cream also accompanied soft cheese and soft plantains. For my first experience the host came up to me and kindly told me to sit down as they took my order. I grabbed some coffee and being of Hispanic decent we’re accustomed to doing so especially in the morning. Once I got the plate even though it’s such a typical dish ~ it brought me back home, it gave me a sense of my childhood nostalgia and the taste was immaculate. They even asked if I wanted tomatoes on top which was new and the flavors really burst on my palate with every bite. I hope whomever is reading this, that you can understand that this place is a mom and niece and grandmother owned business that is really crafting some delicious authentic food from El Salvador. 5/5 stars ⭐️"
"This was the best happy little accident. We came in right before they were closing but they welcome us and served us with smiles and were so happy to have us in their restaurant. Everything we got was delicious and large portions. The salsa was excellent. Paulina is the owner and she was an absolute gem of a human. She brought us extra food to try because she could tell we were enjoying our food and just wanted to feed us and make sure we were well taken care of. She sat and talked to us and told her about her life and how she came to be here, her kids and grandkids, and her love of cooking. She was the sweetest abualita and a new amiga for life. Any time I’m in the area I will be back to visit with her. Highly HIGHLY recommend."
