"This review is for Dr. Melissa Morrissey. She is a kind hearted doctor who listens and who speaks from experience of having children herself. She focuses on behavioral cues which really helped me with my newborn. It is hard to find a pediatrician who does not go by just textbook material or common belief. She is a genuinely good person I believe, which even my newborn baby picks up because her voice and presence calms my baby down every visit and my baby falls asleep in the exam room :) The wait time could be long so account for extra time if you have places to be, but it is well worth it. Front desk people are also nice."

"We switched over to Battery Park Pediatrics when we moved from Midtown a couple of years ago. Dr. Morrissey is our 3 year old primary care. We never feel rushed during the visits, unlike our previous pediatrician where we always felt that she's rushing to get to her next appointment. Dr. Morrissey is also very kind and engaging with our daughter which makes her loves going to the doctor's office! We ended up in the ER with a couple of late night scares and both times Dr. Morrissey followed up in details with us to make sure our daughter is ok and we are fully informed on the cause and also caretaking steps. We were informed about the text services following our second ER visit which we found to be extremely helpful in getting timely responses on non-emergency concerns we have. This also gives us peace of mind that we are able to have a medical opinion at any time. We saw other doctors in the practice when Dr. Morrissey is not available and they are good as well. Hours are a little short now and reception can be a hit or miss. The space is not fancy but the doctors truly care about the well being of your child."

This year my son had a few health issues that we couldn't figure out, and Dr. Melissa Morrissey was amazing and attentive to all of our concerns. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about my son's situation. I was touched at how she went above and beyond by explaining what was happening. I felt like someone was finally taking the time to help us understand. Now my fourteen years old and I feel at ease that we have enough information to find a solution. "Of the several downtown pediatrician options, we selected Battery Park Pediatrics back in 2015 when my first son was born. While we highly recommend all of the Drs in the practice, as they each have their strengths (homeopathic remedies, directness, efficiency etc), we have been seeing Dr. Morrissey most consistently. She is a good listener, patient, thoughtful and takes her time with each patient and you never feel rushed. And she welcomes all your questions to ensure you feel equipped upon leaving her office. I recently just had my 3rd baby and continue to bring now the whole family of kids to this office. Highly recommend this practice!"

"As an anxious first time parent I was riddled with countless GI issues with my daughter who was having so many difficulties with sleep and feeding, and everything was just utterly difficult. I thought this was just normal. We saw several doctors before we landed on Dr.Morrissey to be our primary care provider, she was so patient, attentive and really took the time to listen and explain anything we questioned. She first identified the issue which was silent reflux and helped me figure out how to manage it while supporting my breastfeeding/pumping journey. So many other doctors were quick to prescribe medications (which didnt help) or to brush it off as normal baby behavior. With a diet change and behavioral changes around the feeding process we were able to progress and keep the reflux very manageable. She is now a happy 4 year old. I have to respond to the above review on charging $75/month for personal help via text from a pediatrician is completely reasonable - and in fact kept me sane and calm so many countless times, it is well worth it. When the pandemic hit, I was an anxious wreck, pregnant with our second baby (birthed March 2020) and caring for our toddler having Dr.Morrissey's support and knowing I could rely on her to help when it was needed was so crucial. You do have to bear in mind..the doctor does have her own family and life and isn't available at all hours of the night. If it's something dire at 3am and I just must have some support I call the Pediatric to speak to the doctor on call - which yes is a much longer wait time generally than the prompt text responses Dr. Morrissey offers. Additionally I want to say Dr.Morrissey is so sweet and gentle with the kids. My daughter very willingly comes in for her vaccines and routine visits because her approach is so patient and thought through, and her experience with her has always been very good. Our son is now also a patient of Dr.Morrissey and does very well at his appointments! Yes there are at times long wait times and currently hours are odd, however I do feel this is largely due to the pandemic. Hopefully as the world normalizes and recuperates the hours start to be a little more stable and regular. Overall its a good practice."
