Dr. Gary Mucciolo, MD

"I've been going to Dr. Mucciolo for about 13 years. He delivered both my kids. I was surprised to see he has a couple bad reviews. He's a wonderful, old fashioned doctor who actually takes time with his patients. Sometimes that means he has to take a phone call while you're in a consultation with him, after the exam. If that happens, in my experience, he's on and off the phone in a couple minutes. He's just very busy because he has a lot of patients. He also talks in a somewhat animated and loud manner sometimes, especially when he's trying to let his staff know he needs something while he's talking to you. (They sit outside his office.) He's a real New Yorker. Sometimes he's loud and abrupt. It's not meant to be rude. He's just in a hurry. He's also out of the office a lot delivering babies, and the staff usually tells you when that's the case. I think he's a great doctor and I have recommended him to friends."

"I was referred to him by my GYN. My first appt, he answered a number of calls in the middle of our conversation, which i found to be rude. We scheduled a follow up 2 weeks later and I waited an hour and 45 mins to be seen. Someone that came in after me, with a later appointment time was seen before me, and when I asked the receptionist and the doctor why that was, the response I got was "we don't honor appointment times". There was no "thanks for waiting, sorry this happen, nothing". I had a similar experience with test results as another reviewer. I would have to constantly call the office to find out my test results, and not only is his staff extremely rude, they provided a similar response "he's not working, he's off, he's not in, call back another day" I have finally changed doctors and will be seeing another doctor affiliated with NYU. When requesting my medical records, I was told I would be charge an absurd amount of money, as that is right to do so. One of the benefit of NYU is that all medical records are (or should be) uploaded and shared on the patient portal so all doctors have access to them, yet, Dr. Mucciolo has not done that and will not release or provide me my records without me paying (which is illegal)."

"Literally the WORST experience I have ever encountered in my life going to this doctor, he is very rude first off and his office is literally an apartment turned into a office .Then he told me that he will call me back with my blood results in about 2 weeks ,5 weeks go by and I didn't hear from them at all!! Then I was continuously calling them and his receptionist were no help at all , they continuously told me on a day to day basis to call back tomorrow because he, "isn't in today" this went on for about 2 weeks !! This doctor is NEVER at his office !!When I finally heard from him he calls me screaming at me over the phone saying that he doesn't know where my blood work went and questioning me if I even went to get my blood taken , not only did he call screaming at me , he calls my emergency contact number screaming at her also asking if I went , Once he found my blood work he never even called to let me know that he found it,VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! So I decided to go for another OGBYN doctor because he wasted 5 weeks of my pregnancy just looking for blood work. Once I left I needed him to send my medical records to my new OGBYN doctor and they continuously told me that they will send it to him and they never did, I kept calling and calling them and they told me the same thing that he isn't in today ! I am now 8 and half months pregnant and I haven't been seen since I was 6 months because of THIS DOCTOR !!! I just now finally got my records sent to my doctor and I'm having the hardest time being seen by any OGBYN doctor because I'm so far in my pregnancy!!! If you don't want to waste your time then I highly recommend that you don't go to this doctor!!"

"Gary DELIVERED me as a baby, plus my brother and sister, and has helped virtually every woman in my family with routine and not so routine visits. He has made all of us feel very comfortable with any issue that may arise. I live in New Jersey, and will continue to make the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to see Dr. Mucciolo as long as he is in practice. THE BEST!!!"
