"Established care for one of my cats here and am relieved to have found a vet clinic nearby that offered us decently priced care and prompt follow-up. They didn’t rush us and gave us lots of recommendations for help in changing some annoying behaviors. Also appreciate the complimentary refreshments up front. That’s a nice touch :)"

"I am so thankful to Dr. Silverman and the VCG Astoria team. I will start by saying that I have a French Bulldog (Ozzy) and Dr. Silverman has been the only vet we have gone to, out of 4, who have not shown judgement toward me for having this breed. He is patient, honest and so observant - often noticing issues before I even have to explain them. We have had a rough year with Ozzy, involving spinal issues, skin issues etc, which resulted in more than a few phone calls to which VCG, Madison and Dr. Silverman responded to so quickly and efficiently. I would not hesitate in recommending this facility to anyone - especially if they have a bulldog or other problematic breed. I don’t want to think about where Ozzy would be if we haven’t found Dr. Silverman, it truly is a relief having him as our vet. I would give 10 stars if I could."

"Not only was I not called to be informed that the remains of my beloved were ready for pickup today (I somehow knew, and called to check), but the vet assistant person at the front said not one thing. Not even a sorry. Just handed me the bag and watched me leave. I won't even go into what callous care Yang and Madison gave a month earlier. Would I recommend? Absolutely not."

"Not pleased with our experience here. It took a week and many phone calls to get back blood results that showed what ended up being life threatening anemia from lymphoma (diagnosed by another vet clinic after this location refused to even TRY to squeeze in our dying cat on a Saturday). I have been a veterinary receptionist before- I could not believe that the receptionist gave me a flat no on bringing in my lethargic, strange behavior cat without even checking with a doctor or anything. I know Saturdays are busy but to not even feign care for my pet really upset me. Either their staff is poorly trained or their practice is run without any regard for patient compassion or perhaps both. Everything was expensive, including the six months of flea preventative they sold us for a cat who died the next week. The doctor we saw insisted we fed our cats a highly expensive rabbit protein diet while missing the masses on his organs. I called so many times to get back our bloodwork without response and was once on hold for 30 minutes- when I FINALLY spoke to a doctor, she didn’t even apologize. We have a new vet now who helped our cat through the end of his life and without charging us for every piece of trash they used during his care."

"VCG is a caring and responsive vet in Astoria. I moved from Forest Hills (where my babies went to the FH branch of VCG) to Astoria and they helped make the transition simple. They have consistently taken great care of my 2 young pups and my elderly cat. While you can't always get an appointment right away (eg. same/next day), scheduling is always reasonable. They are also compassionate and will do everything they can to get your baby in asap if you are dealing with an urgent matter...and lend helpful advice and guidance. The staff is always willing to take their time with you, make sure to answer all your questions thoroughly, and follow up afterwards to make sure everything is going ok. Super glad to have them nearby."
