"I lived in 115 Bruen from 2016 to 2018. Apt. 403. I was one of the first tenants in the building. The parking was very convenient as its a pain parking around there. I loved the convenience of being close to Newark Penn so you can get to Jersey City or NYC in no time. The only drawback I experienced was when they put up the new building across the street it blocked my budweiser view. The residents were all hard-working class folks. I dont know how it is 5 years later but I can say that my experience was very positive. And what I really respected was that they let me break my lease because I purchased a home and they only made me pay 1 extra month when I moved. So i went back and forth from my new home to my old apartment.."
"I have nothing but positive things to say about 115 Bruen. The owner(s) & staff are wonderful! They made sure that anything needing addressed was addressed immediately - from any minor neighbor noise complaint - to a fully flooded apartment lol... they took care of everything! I would HIGHLY recommend you choosing 115 Bruen (or any affiliated building under J&L ) as you'll ALWAYS get a quality unit - high end style finishes - spacious layouts - and ultimately (which was SUPER important to me) a clean & secure building. Don't pass them up!"
"I lived here for two years. First, the positives. The building is relatively new, well maintained and the super is very friendly and easy to communicate with. The on site parking was a great convenience and felt safe with the bright lighting. Now, the negatives. The walls are paper thin so I could hear everything my nextdoor neighbors were doing in their bathrooms, kitchens, music, etc. The vents were also connected, so I could tell when my neighbors were eating fish, kinda gross. The worst part about living here was interacting with the management company, J&L. They were unprofessional, inflexible and petty. I was once called by the leasing agent 9x during the work day to resolve a relatively minor issue. I had a headache after interacting with them. I know I am not alone in this because a lot of the residents had similar complaints..Beware, the non-smoking policy was not enforced. Also, if you live on the railroad side of the building, be prepared for lots and lots of train noise. They charge a lot more than it is worth given the general state of the neighborhood and managerial lethargy."
