"I called to get a statement of good health and the lady that answered the phone Barry I think her name is was super confusing. After getting a physical 6 months ago I needed the doctor to write this for me. She informed me I would have to come in for another physical and pay for the visit! This place is extremely money hungry. A physical is once a year, I shouldn’t have to come back in to do another one using my insurance all over again. RIDICULOUS. I asked to speak to someone who seemed more competent and she said she cannot transfer me to anyone. She proceeded to say have a good day to end the phone call. I do not recommend this place. They are not thorough and it’s all about money to them! Go elsewhere"
"I'm a new patient and while the staff is nice, this doesn't feel like a patient-centric approach to medicine. I moved up my annual physical because I was experiencing abdominal pain. Before even seeing the PA, I was asked to set-up a follow-up appointment to discuss the results of my bloodwork and I would be charged another for another visit. The bloodwork came back with some flags but I had a series of scans to schedule and I didn't want to pay for $30 for each conversation, so I waited until they could be completed (there was limited availability) and my pain had gone away so it was less urgent (although they didn't know that). However, it would be been nice if the office had proactively reached out about my abnormal results; I had consulted with my cousin who is a doctor in the meantime. I had my follow-up appointment and the PA asked me to come in for another urine sample and more bloodwork because the original tests weren't conclusive enough (again, I wish they didn't wait to tell me that) and ordered three more scans. I was not prepped on the details of the scans: one was super invasive, the other three required different needs (empty bladder, full bladder) but because I wasn't aware, I had to schedule separate appointments. I had my second follow-up appointment because I saw abnormal lab results that made me nervous and I didn't want to wait for my final scan. The PA referred me to a specialist. This has been going on since April and it's the end of June: so I've been to the office twice, I've never seen an actual doctor, I've had two telemedicine calls costing $60 (per my insurance coverage) only for them to tell me to see a specialist. They encouraged me to see a specialist in their practice but I didn't want to pay another 100 dollars ($50 for a specialist, and I imagine another $50 for follow-up) so they just gave me a general referral (not even a specific doctor) with another practice in the area. I understand that doctors need to have financially solvent practices but it's hard to feel like my health is a priority in this current structure. Let's just hope something isn't really wrong that I would have needed to act upon two months ago!"
"Very sketchy. Terribly managed. I booked an appointment w Dr. Shirin Peters on Zocdoc and instead of seeing Dr. Peters, I go another doctor instead. No explanation. I would later get random charges on my credit card and receive random bills in the mail. I would not be told about lab fees and then later get a bill from a lab they use. I called their billing department to understand these bills and no one could tell me what's going on. I decided to go to another clinic. The bills kept coming but I wanted a clean break from Bethany so I decided to just pay to make the problem go away. Followed the instructions on how to pay. They couldn't even locate my account. They sent me several account/ID numbers and the web interface still gives me error messages. I ping their office regularly on the Klara app to get this resolved but still nada. Now I continue to get their annoying bills and their threats to go to a collection agency but they don't even know how to figure out how I can pay them even though they previously charged my credit card automatically..."
"Shady behavior from them. I had a visit with them last year, paid my copay, and thought everything was fine. However, months later, I received an invoice for another copay charge for the same visit. I called them to have them explain and rectify the situation, but the customer service rep was completely unhelpful and could not get their story straight regarding what had happened. They were unable to directly address why I was being charged twice for one visit, which occurred months apart, and kept reiterating their policy to me. Save yourself the trouble and visit somewhere else."
"Since I became a patient, I’ve had great experiences at Bethany Medical. The doctors listened to my concerns and helped me identify the root causes. The facility is always clean and the staff is patient and kind. I appreciate their flexibility in offering services remotely and in the office. It's very convenient. I hope they expand to other specialties because I like having my care team at one practice."
