Reviews
"Due to this company's bad faith practices, I anticipate having to pursue legal action. Renting with them is doing yourself a disservice and will inevitably lead to dissatisfaction and hardship."
"Both Jay and Dillon at Pine Management are fantastic to work with. They are very attentive to their building and responsive to the residents' needs. The entire staff and office is extremely welcoming and everyone works as a team with a common goal - to provide quality property management service. Highly recommend!"
"DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE. When I first got to my apartment, there was no one there to help us or show us around or even enter the building and the place was an absolute mess with dust and roaches throughout the whole apartment (closet, bathroom, living room, and kitchen). I have photographic and video evidence of all my statements. These people also take their sweet time responding to your emails and sometimes don't get back to you for weeks. The elevator is constantly broken where I was and so were the washing machines. The maintenance people were very nice but the management is not. Finally after moving out, my fiance and I left our place spotless and followed the moving out guidelines the management emailed us. It has been OVER A MONTH since I moved out and returned the keys and I have STILL NOT GOTTEN my Security deposit back. Security deposits MUST BE returned within 14 DAYS of moving out, by law in the State of New York. I've emailed and called multiple times and they still haven't resolved anything; I've given them multiple chances so I may have to resort to small claims court and see if they prefer paying $10,000 instead of the $1,550 they owe me. This is what the State of New York allows me to do. We will see."
"We have been living in a Pine unit for almost 4 years. We recently had water damage (bad situation for everyone) and the team at Pine could not have reacted faster. Communication was great, managed our expectations, worked as fast as possible, provided third party mold inspection reviews for our peace of mind. We are really happy here."
"A disgrace of a company. I have rented from several NYC companies and this is hands down the worst. Please save your sanity and don't rent from them. 1. They will continue to find excuses to enter your apartment on a biweekly schedule ("leak checks," "need to post a sticker inside apartment front door") and want you to be available from 9 AM-4 PM for this each time. If you work from home, this will destroy your sense of a schedule and autonomy over your own space with constant intrusions despite you telling them that you have work obligations (building manager came and rang my doorbell and knocked on door repeatedly during an important virtual job interview I had made them aware of) 2. Will not turn on the heat all winter despite it being 10 degrees outside. Check HPD online for a history of all heat complaints before you sign a lease. They will then gaslight you and claim it is 68 degrees in all units at all times of the day despite the radiators being off (they have "sensors" on the walls that tell them this). I had to get a thermometer to actually measure the temperature in my bedroom (see below) 3. Started drilling and demolishing the walls in the entryway hallway, releasing dust and debris into apartments, exposing pipes and wires to do electrical and piping work with NO permit and zero advanced notice. Immediately covered up the illegal construction work when a NYC buildings inspector came to inspect 4. Badly managed buildings with several apartments having nonfunctional fridges and other plumbing issues. Repair request requires you to contact them numerous times and be available for several days when they don't show up to their appointments. Have zero respect for their tenants or their time 5. Treat their maintenance workers terribly and send them all over the city with little information and always last minute. Believe all the negative reviews and don't do it. Also have a history of not giving back security deposits as they send emails with no subject heading (that goes to your spam inbox) and then claim you did not respond to the email so you are not entitled to your deposit. Would give zero stars if possible"
