"For Michelin star sushi experience that goes above and beyond this is the spot! The decor is a simple yet elegant makes you feel transported from the streets a midtown to a wonderfully calm oasis. The sushi was divine from the first piece till the last piece. For sushi lovers, I suggest the market price omakase, which ranges between $150-$250 but they will serve you about $150-$175 worth and ask if you’d like to continue. Again if you let them choose. If you choose the pieces you want could also be more expensive. Insider tip, not all fish on the menu given is all the fish you can order (potentially due to seasonality / availability). Which also makes the experience slightly different every time compared to set menu options omakase spots, but also allows you to manage allergies and personal taste/preferences. The market price omakase gives you an opportunity to try some more unique fish, compared to typical sushi spots. The real special part about this spot is the rice. It’s seasoned in such a way that is different than most sushi spots, that just makes each piece that much more pleasant and enjoyable to consume. Bite by bite I just felt as though it couldn’t get better but it did. My favorite piece is definitely the grill fatty tuna with sea salt chips and lemon squeeze. It’s usually the last one they serve but it is like the A5 wagyu of the sea. All the sushi pieces we got were amazing (none disappointed). We got a fruit platter as part of the omakase, which was a nice touch to finish the meal. Service is great. Remembered we were celebrating something and included a little candle with the fruits. Very attentive to notice if your water is low, or you need a new finger towel as you enjoy the meal. Will be returning soon!"
"Experiencing the culinary delights of a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in NYC is unparalleled. Opting for the Omakase, where the chef takes the reins, we enjoyed exquisite selections such as bluefin tuna, Alaska king salmon, succulent oysters, freshwater eel, Ama ebi, and sea urchin. The impeccable freshness and meticulous preparation of each dish are evident. By the way, their wait staff service is beyond excellent."
"Sushi Yasuda is one of the finest Japanese restaurants in NYC. We have eaten here on two occasions over the years. Once in the restaurant, which has a very minimalist look, and the other time, we actually did a take out order for a special anniversary dinner. The food was spectacular on both occasions, and as you can see from the photos, the anniversary dinner was a hit!"
"We had the omakase by the bar. Service was excellent but we waited quite a bit before the chef started serving us. They even gave us our first fish before our appetizer. Everything was great except the Mackerel. They also gave us an option to substitute that but we tried it anyway as this was a Michelin star restaurant. The food was great. Rice was especially delicious. But I think they could have spent more time explaining the fish, and maybe gave us options on what to do with the shrimp head (other omakase can either fry or serve in soup). But overall, still a great place and definitely should try it once."
"Solid five star Michelin Star service and experience. Sushi tasting menus was superb and service was top notch. I would say some of the best service without being pushy I’ve had in this scale of restaurant. Saki and wine selection was stellar and a standard beer selection."
