"I didn't see Dr Falo, but I did see other physicians at this practice. I went in for my 12 week prenatal appointment and they were unable to find a heartbeat, so they sent me to the radiology department in VHC for an ultrasound but assured me everything was probably fine. After the ultrasound, they had me sit in a room alone to wait for my results. They CALLED me to say "sorry, but I don't have good news, there's no heartbeat and looks like it stopped growing at 8 weeks". Uh, you don't friggin' call someone to tell them their child has died, you do it in person and maybe try to have a little bit of empathy. It's not that hard. The way they handled this is completely unacceptable. I went in for a D&C the next day and again, the doctor was very cold and distant. One nurse and an intern were sweet and understanding, luckily. I hope they revisit their protocols for addressing emotional situations such as this."
