Reviews
"Horrible management, the other reviews are not lying. They don't care about you, as soon as you've signed the lease they treat you like a number. In the time that I lived here, 2 years, FIVE (including mine) cars were broken into at different times due to their garage door being broken. The garage door then STAYED open for TWO weeks. They were not empathetic or active with the car break ins, and were not helpful at all through the experience. What is the point of having parking garage cameras? The elevators were broken frequently (about every 1-3 months), and it took them weeks to months to repair them each time. Aside from that, the apartments are cheaply made that ANYTHING that touches the walls scuffs it (even if it was your own nail), then they charge you for it at the end. They also forgot to do my preliminary move out inspection 2 weeks prior to moving out, where they were supposed to tell us what to work on. They went straight for the move out inspection where they charged me full price ($120) for the smallest cleaning fees (i.e. some dust, a smudge in the fridge which I had deep cleaned and could have wiped right then and there but she didn't let me, etc.). Their toilets stain black on its own, and they tried charging me for it despite it being documented that it was there since move in, and she acted like she was doing me a favor by removing it from charges. The apartments look nice, but management and how they handle people made it NOT worth it. Update: because my account took more for rent payment than they needed on the last month, they had to give me credit. They charged me about $200 for drywall repairs before giving me my money. They did not tell us when we were moving in that they have a contractor decide how much we pay, they only told us to make sure to spackle any holes (which we did). When they took my money, I tried contacting them to have them at least share where it is written on the lease that this is done; since they are so "by the book" to take your money. Of course, after taking my money they're ignoring all my attempts to contact them."
"Pros: apartments have great natural light, love my balcony on nice days, maintenance responds quickly, friendly people. Cons: I’ve had to put in requests to fix my AC four times in the last year. Sometimes it’s fixed and sometimes not. Garage door on the upper floor breaks often which is a security concern. I’ve had packages stolen and package security is a big concern."
"I've been here since May and this is one of the best apartments I've lived in. The only maintenance issue I've had is with the garbage disposal and it was resolved hastily. The huge windows shine the sun brightly through my unit so I can grow my indoor plants, my neighbors are nice, especially the 4-legged ones, everyone in the leasing office is kind and the valet trash is SUPER convenient, which helps to keep smells out of my apartment ( because I'm clean hello!) and the amenities are lovely. Weekends are a bit rowdy with the Shockoe Bottom party crowd, but I came prepared for that and I'm a party person anyway. Take time to enjoy the City Lights Rooftop on a nice breezy day, this place does not disappoint, I am one happy transplant and I am considering renewing my lease if the price is right!"
"I like the place and the people, the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the units are flipped extremely fast and you can tell which corners were cut after a few months. Keep an eye out on your carpet being properly installed and cheap paint! Otherwise I've really enjoyed living here and will continue to do so!"
"mostly leaving this review cause its weird that people only review apartments when they suck which then skews the whole rating system: been here four months or so now, and it's been very chill. have had to call maintenance twice and each time they came super fast and were fantastic. building halls and common areas are kept very clean and I really haven't had any issues with parking that people talk about here. actually, the garage and allotted spot have been great. neighbors are also all very low key and friendly. went through the leasing process with Breanna, who as another review said, is deeply wonderful. the process was kind of slow, but not terrible and ultimately worth it. Bonita in the office is also wonderful and literally rescued me from being locked out of my mailbox last week when she found me standing in front of it confused and mail-less. overall, it's great and if I'm still in Richmond next year, I'll continue renting from main street. (i know its weird to be this complimentary about an apartment and I feel like a schill, but it's been a great building so far.)"
