"cons: the roof leaks every time it rains. ventilation is poor as most units have no openable windows, so dust and mold are big issues. you’ll have to replace your unit’s air filter at least once a month, so i recommend getting an air purifier. we tested the water after developing sores/rashes only to find out it’s hard water. when we first moved in, they gave us a different unit than the one we toured. this unit had a light fixture missing, a broken garbage disposal, a broken dishwasher that had to be replaced, a dented dryer with a clogged vent (once it was “fixed” the dust just exploded over the top bedroom, due to horrible ventilation), and we found pre-rolled joints in both closets, indicating no cleaning had been done prior to us moving in. the wifi here is horrible. outages are a regular occurrence. the walls are paper thin, so you will hear everything that happens both in and outside the building, from neighbors being intimate to dogs barking at all hours of the night. it’s not uncommon for the ceiling to leak, as there are many cracks in the ceiling of the unit. and of course no openable windows. not only does it make the dust and mold issues worse, it’s a huge fire risk. apparently code violations do not apply to the building thanks to the grandfather clause, so nothing can be done about it. bugs are also an issue. spiders, centipedes, and a few gnats. there are some small holes in the bricks, so don’t be surprised to find a new buddy or two when you first move in. pest control comes once every month or so to spray a few entryways and nothing else. sometimes they’ll forget to treat your apartment and you’ll have to request they come outside the batch appointment, and even then they barely do anything. lastly there are issues with car break ins in the area. not to mention people speed a lot in the area, and accidents are not uncommon. our car had its bumper ripped off from street parking recently in a hit and run and there was nothing we could do about it. make sure you have full coverage car insurance. lot parking is paid and towing is enforced, it’s not cheap. there’s also sewage leaks outside. you may hear construction outside throughout the day, and road closures for construction are common. management and maintenance is difficult to get a hold of unless you follow up multiple times. be aware there’s a lot of personal responsibility placed on the tenants to care for the apartment. read your lease carefully. pros: located by some lovely parks."
"Leaky roof that was never fixed even though we reported it 5 months ago. The ac wasn’t working for the first couple months, same with the wifi. We are still having problems with the wifi so it is definitely not “high speed” the building manager never reply’s to messages. Such a headache to live hear as there is always a problem somewhere."
"I am absolutely in love with this unit! The lofts are beautiful. I went on a tour last week with Brandy who might be one of the property managers and she was so sweet. We didn't get the unit we wanted to see but we did enjoy the unit we did see. She was so understanding and very knowledgeable."
"Had a horrible experience touring this location. The man that gave my husband and I the tour said he couldn’t show us the apartment we applied (and we’re approved) to see because he “didn’t want the experience of seeing how they live to leave a bad taste in our mouths”, as if that statement didn’t already do that. Then to top it all off he said the residents currently living there were very hostile and were constantly breaking windows. Then because I was asking a lot of questions (my husband and I were tired of touring and ready to sign with just about any place) the man became very rude towards me and started to question me like I was a child. The one apartment we were able to tour only had a skylight that seemed to have debris on it, so not much light was coming in and made the whole place seem very dark. Then when I asked for a corporate number he told me he only had an email and that it would get sent directly back to him. We’ve had tours through Peak properties before and none of them asked for my full name at the end of them, but this guy made sure to ask for that before we left. Oh yeah, you will also only have 5 days between the current resident leaving and your move in date, which doesn’t leave any time to see the place or have them do proper cleanings. There were also packages thrown everywhere in the lobby area, so if you want your packages to be secured I recommend looking elsewhere."
"Many of the reviews here are old and since then the property management company has changed. After living here a year and half under the current management, I will try to paint a current picture. It is a relatively good value for the living space especially considering current market conditions. Spaces are clean and modern, albeit depending on the unit can be a bit dim. My unit lacks proper windows to the outside, but the high ceilings more than make up for this. When I have dealt with maintenance, they have been prompt and professional; I have no complaints. All appliances are relatively new. Most older reviews brought to attention persistent leaks in the roof, in my time here, this problem has been fixed. Currently the main issues are the result of other tenants, specifically peoples' reluctance to clean up after themselves and their pets. After repeat warnings, management took more proactive measures and waste has started to be curtailed. The only other major issue is an alarm near the main entrance that will go off for a couple days at a time before being silenced. I am spared since my unit is far enough away but I feel no envy of those living next to it. Be wary. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out the place if you are interested. It's not perfect, but no place is."
