"Roaches everywhere! Mold everywhere! Holes everywhere in the apartment!!! Health violations so now I’m seeking a Tenant Assertion. Do not move here because none of the issues will be fixed. Landlord is very nice, the owners don’t care about you. Maintenance staff are lazy. I had to pick a star to make this review but there are no stars in the galaxy for this place. Horrible place to move too."
"Very poor management don’t ever stay here! Going to call channel 12 and act accordingly with any legal requirements. I signed my lease in December 9th was supposed to move in on the 15th, it’s January 10th and still haven’t moved in yet due to the fact of having no heat or hot water. Having no heat and no hot water in 9 degree weather is crazy. That violates Virginia health codes and is very unsafe which is a major lawsuit. Now it’s a very bad leak coming from the kitchen ceiling that could possibly flood the apartment. There’s more but I’m going to keep it short. I haven’t stayed here not one night or either move any furniture into the apartment didn’t even get a chance to turn on the lights. At this point I just want my money back and terminate my lease. don’t ever stay here.!!!"
"The property manager is not only rude but unhelpful. Try calling her supervisor and get the run around. The maintenance workers are ill trained to fix anything is these older un kept up with apartments. Takes weeks to fix the heating and air conditioning while leaving the tenants with a hope and prayer of getting anything fixed. It’s more fitting to call 12 on your side for help, then trying to get a manager to respond to emergencies. Apartments aren’t kept up with, even with trying to get work orders in place. Wouldn’t recommend these to anyone especially with RoseMarie as the property manager. They could do well with getting rid of her."
"Very poor management. Property needs to be updated and the repairs they charge you for cost more than the rent. Website looks nothing like the actual property. While living there for the short amount of time we experienced multiple issues with the refrigerator constantly leaking which continuously caused our food items to spoil (maintenance visited the home at least 3 times and the solution ended with us placing a empty storage container in the top to catch the dripping water which needed to be emptied 3xs a week or the fridge would be soaking wet). Previously spoken with two prior neighbors whom also had issues with the manager and was also advised they were over charged without notice. There are multiple stray cats which are cared for and treated by not only random neighbors but also by management making it less likely they will leave."
"My husband and I have been tenants here for some time. The property manager RoseMarie is SUPER kind, understanding, and truly cares about her tenants.*EDITED 4/18/17 At first. I was 8/9 months pregnant and it took the maintenance man from October 2nd to November 11th to take care of black mold that had been building up underneath our pipes for god only knows how long. After the issue came to our attention we immediately notified the offices because if you don't already know, black mold is life threatening. On FOUR entire separate occasions we tried to have the issue handled by walking into the office,(during office hours)emails, phone calls, etc. because as a newly married and soon-to-be parents we had no spare money for repair, and by contract they were responsible to dealing with these type of situations ( one that AGAIN is LIFE THREATENING!!) The office manager would not meet my husband on a specific day for resolving the issue, and when pressed about it she called the cops on him for "causing a scene and refusing to leave". Sure, my husband has little patience and a temper, but he was literally just trying to receive a set date and she was yelling at him to leave because her office hours were closed???(Office opens at 9am, my husbands shift didn't start until 12pm so he went in around 10am to address her. This is story is only the outer layer and the final kicker to what forced us to leave. Please, do not waste your money or time investing into this spot, ******THEY DO NOT CARE*********, they may be hospitable and accommodating at first, but that is just an impression. Other major issues: "Quiet time" seems to ONLY apply to tenants. ( Trash comes and goes as they please at odd hours 3am-ish for us some days!) The walls don't trap a lot of sound, not at all really. You can keep the complex spotless, remodel even!, and you will never see your security deposit again, GUARANTEED!! Our ceiling fan went out THE day after we rented. I know this may seem like a small feat. to poke at, but in the summer/winter seasons I like a fan that actually WORKS, that ceiling fan was really what pulled us in believe it or not! (Anti-AC here, or more like Anti-spending-extra-money-I-don't-have) SILVERFISH SILVERFISH SILVERFISH & some roaches & house spiders (Inevitable, I know, but I mean A LOT! & I'm a very very tidy person + I keep a clean house so the bit where bugs exist does not make sense to me!) The windows. THE WINDOWS. The darn window placement made absolutely zero sense. Tiny windows for one, and they were all above the shoulders so the "view" wasn't even visible!!!! (I am nearly 6ft tall mind you..The view wasn't that great either, trash cans can't get much more exciting than Oscar the Grouch.) Say, "bye bye!" to that security deposit if you wish to make absolutely any changes at all. Such as, wall paint/flooring/cabinetry/counter tops. The place could be spit back out looking like a dime, but they want your money. You are held under contract that any alterations must be checked by the offices first and then returned as if no one has ever entered. THE BLOODY PARKING LOT COULD USE A REMODEL FOR SURE, unless you want your car remodeled!! The parking spaces are so tight knit ,and it is always a race (at any time of the day/night) to return to the complex with a spot near your stoop. If you didn't already guess it, yes, ONLY ONE SPACE PER TENANT TLDR; Check ALL outlets/light switches/ piping/ water flow/cabinetry for roaches(Usually they will have no matts that you see most times or are painted a dark color to distract the eyes from the bugs/scraps) walk around for a bit to really have a feel of the area/people before skipping to it!"
