Originally built in 1908 as a produce production facility, City Exchange was the largest of its kind on the East Coast. "So I wrote a review about my time here a few years ago but it looks like Matchbox flagged it so here I am writing it again for those to be aware. I stayed here from December 2015-July 2016 in apartment 314 which is right above the restaurant. The place looked amazing online and this was the nicest apartment in the building so I subleased it immediately through someone looking to move out. Right when I moved in I noticed many things wrong including all the floors were uneven and slanted. I had to level every piece of furniture I had. The dishwasher was also not working and according to the person I was subleasing from it hadn't worked the whole time she was there too. Also the fridge is up against a wall and can't open all the way.So it's nearly impossible to change any of the shelf heights in it. Because of the brick wall and size of the HVAC unit the whole place had a ton of trouble staying warm in the winter with it barely staying above 60 degrees some nights and I even ended up with a power bill over $270 for the month of February from the issue. The biggest issue though was one day I came home from work to find over a hundred baby cockroaches in my apartment. Most of them were dead but it was extremely gross and I had to sweep all of them up. I called Matchbox to let them know and they came and sprayed for them. But a few weeks later the same thing happened again. Another big issue was I had multiple leaks from the ceiling that ultimately led to the sheet rock in the hallway falling down from water damage. Safe to say once my lease was up I was very excited to leave and would not recommend this place to anyone or to rent from any MatchBox property. Throughout my lease they were difficult to work with and even towed my car once without notice."
